Description
These are the bit beasts from my OC Team, Generation Alpha. On the top is Takaze (Tah-Kah-Zay) , a wind-type hawk bit beast, belonging to my main OC, Terra Hughes. He's not based on any legends, more based on my spirit guide, and my two favourite colours, black and green.
On the left-hand side is Toraze (Tore-Ah-Zay), an Ice-type tiger bit beast, belonging to Kazuo Yukimura, the team captain. He's based on the legend of the blue frost tigers. (I know that Rei's bit beast, driger, is also a tiger but Claude and Michael both have eagles, and Bryan has a falcon, so it didn't seem unoriginal to me.)
On the Right is Kitsuze (Kit-Sue-Zay), a water type fox bit beast, belonging to Orihime Mizumoto. She's based on the Japanese legend of many-tailed foxes, called Kitsune. She's very girly, because her owner is a Ganguro Kogal.
At the bottom is Haize (High-Ee-Zay), a lightning-type Hyena bit beast, belonging to Sora Kiyokami. He's not based on any legends, more on one of my favourite animals; also, I have never seen anyone else with a Hyena Bit beast (this said, I'm not a fan of Beyblade: Metal Fight, and thus don't watch it.)
The team, team members, bit beast names and designs, and all other things associated belong to me. (~Hughesation /~Hughes-Can-Write )

I've imagined my own beyblade team. If my friends could have any powers they want and one ether chooses to move objects with her mind or to be like green lantern she'd have a hawk bit beast called Harris. Levitation means attacks like Falborg, green lantern means attacks use light instead of wind as a weapon.

It's a cute concept that your team are based on superheroes; you should consider giving them hero-like costumes, and using that as their team gimmick!
I recommend not basing their costume on the hero they're based on too much, though - you want to make them look unique and stand out so that people can easily recognize your characters.
Try looking up various superheroes, and comic characters to come up with some cool designs, and awesome names - and consider this: do they have an superhero alias, like Jin of the Gale (AKA Hiro Granger), or do they reveal their true identities?

Kogal really refers to a Japanese girl, usually a teenager, who keeps up with the fashion. They often follow a particular trend.
Ganguro is a Japanese fashion statement among the rebellious and fashion conscious girls. It's popularity really peaked in the early 2000s, especially in Tokyo. It literally means "Black-face", and it's characterised by having dark skin, white or pastel make-up, blonde, white, or silvery hair; they often wear a lot of pink, especially neons, and can like to acent it with colours such as purple or cyan.

OOOOH, okay, I've seen those girls before but just not known what they were called! like in the anime/manga Peach Girl!
. . .to be completely truthful, they kind of freak me out, especially the black, black ones (although the orange is weird, too)

Yeah, it is pretty bizarre, isn't it?
It must be an aquired fashion statement.

Have to admit, I'm not much of a fashion follower; but sometimes, to create a certain type of character you have to reference styles and subcultures to get the right image... or that's my opinion.
Often my designs have nothing to do with personal taste...

That's a good point indeed! In fact, almost all of the how-to-draw books I own recommend keeping up with current fashion when you're designing characters, but unfortunately I have no fashion sense so I pretty much ignore that completely and just draw whatever I want (which may be why I'm so bad at designing new characters XDD )

l, if you don't like to folow fashion, maybe you see characters in films/TV, and base things on their character, or on subcultural stereotypes, (I'm terrible for that) - you might even have a buddy who wears bright or stand out clothes.
Something I recommend is if you're working on the PC, don't be affraid to hit google and search up styles (even loosley, like "gangster") - it can hep with styles you don't know much about.
