I think this is pretty good! A couple of small things I noticed- the left eye, along with the left side of the nose and corner of the mouth, could be pulled up a little so they're more in line with the angle of the face. There's also a bit too big of a space between the facial features and the hairline, with the jaw looking a bit stretched out. This could be fixed by bringing in the side of the hairline a bit closer- not the top, just the side- along with the ear, and bringing in the chin a smidge.Ā 
Your values are done really well, although I think it might help to have the shadows around the eyes, particularly the left, a bit darker.Ā 
One thing I like is how you've used textured brushes to establish an idea of detail around the edges of the hair, while leaving the majority of it blocked out; it gives it a very neat feel and helps keep the attention on the face

Great use of reference. Studying faces through black and white photos can be very helpful. I really like the eyes!
