Description What started out as a random sketch turned into this.
This is a picture of Kotaru Fuma from Samurai Warriors 2 in a bangaa form I gave him with Shard, a little viera character of Cit's.

Fuma is known as being the embodiment of Chaos. In our random rpg, Fuma finds Shard, who is a an orphan that had shut herself up to the rest of the world after her parents' death. However, when Fuma finds Shard, they both start to change, Shard starts to open herself up more and Fuma starts acting more like a normal person and not the chaotic killer he was.
As they spend more time together, Shard sees Fuma more as a father and Fuma starts acting like a father to her, so Fuma cares a lot about her and will act appropriately should anyone threaten her.

Since this is the last week for classes for me, and I still have trades and commissions to do, I decided to get my hands on a tablet from the school and work on this for fun since all I had was the original concept sketch.
In the end I'm very happy with the final result. Some parts of the shading bothers me a bit, but I think I did my best working those out.
The background was actually a photo I used and altered in Photoshop to fit the image and work for the scene.

Photoshop CS2.

The way you do the texturing on the armour still baffles me to this day. It's really nice the way you do it. I really love the background too. It fits so nice with the chatacter.

Really? It's pretty simple I think, and some would probably tell me it's cheating in some way, heh.
Yes, I'm happy that I was able to find a picture that works and modify it so it fit in with the picture.
Thank you very much!

The background works out nicely with the focus of the picture, and the level of detail is just amazing. I don't know how you managed to put it all in without going on a bender.

i never got into SW. i was a bigger fan of DW ^^

wonderful mood you portrayed, and the colors are so vibrant. really nice job

hunterbahamut In reply to thechaosproject [2007-09-12 01:29:19 +0000 UTC]

SW is a different game than DW, and SW2 is much much better than SW.

Thank you very much!

thechaosproject In reply to hunterbahamut [2007-09-12 04:12:51 +0000 UTC]

yeah i know, SW is japan, and DW is china. but the styles are basically the same: hit the same button over and over again, plus maybe another button XD

*coughes*
SW I think is a bit more involved than DW, but they're still fun.

thechaosproject In reply to hunterbahamut [2007-09-13 13:03:08 +0000 UTC]

meh. for me, SW was boring because i had already gotten used to DW. but i don't play it hardcore so i can't see the differences XD the only thing i care about it riding the pony ^_^

Wow... That is SO cool...

/P.S. FF12 ROCKS!/

Anyway, the amount of detail you've put into Fuma's armour is amazing...But I hope you don't mind, but with that pale skin, the net at his left shoulder kinda reminds me of a Yatu'ja.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hunterbahamut In reply to Wolf-Light [2007-09-12 01:33:15 +0000 UTC]

Well, I have no idea who Yatu'ja is.

Technically it's not a net, it is a shirt that just has a net look/texture on it.

Thank you very much!

Wolf-Light In reply to hunterbahamut [2007-09-12 08:01:07 +0000 UTC]

Ah...

A Yatu'ja is the proper name for the alien from the Predator films... I REALLY read too much...

I love the complexity of the pose, the shadowing and background add a huge amount of depth to this piece, you should be proud.

Do more like this and I will love you for a good long time
