Description
I've always wanted to do one of theseActually, I only realized once I started doing this that I have tons of inspirations, too many in fact to put on the map (I only put the ones that influence me the most)
I'm also pretty influenced by Charles Vess, Norman Rockwell, Studio Ghibli, and Clamp (I couldn't fit them).
So in case you can't read the names of the people, I'll also write them here in the comments section (starting top left, then next row at farthest left, etc.):
1. John Bauer- beautiful forests, trolls, fairies... trolls!
2. Yoshitaka Amano- really gorgeous everything * ^ *
3. W.W.Denslow- really pretty, flowing lines.
4. - She's amazing and awesome and I hope to be as good as her someday
*startingg next row*
5. Alan Lee- beautiful ladies and backgrounds u _ u
6. Kinuko Y. Craft- absolutely splendid everything. So shiny and pretty and poofy and perfect v u v
7. - really cool and stylized work.
8. Pop Wonderland- light, airy, and cute.
*next row*
9. - fabulous old-fashioned sketchy style. Everything she does is gorgeous and spindly.
10. John R. Neill- really pretty early 1900's style.
11. Alphonse Mucha- absolutely amazing artist. There is no other like him. Also, he pretty much created the Art Nouveau style.
12. Disney- I'm actually more inspired by the concept art for Disney movies than the movies themselves. They tend to have amazing outfits and sceneries.
13. - really unique style, almost like that of the golden-age artists.
*next row*
14. Shane Prigmore- really funny and unique style, and really amazing character designs.
*below*
15. Arthur Rackham- stunning trees, characters, and animals (everything, pretty much). One of the foremost golden-age artists.
16. Brian Froud- gorgeous faeries, goblins, trolls, dwarves, and other fairytale things.
17. Lisbeth Zwerger- Probably one of my greatest inspirations, if not the greatest. I love her work to death and you need to check out some of her books if you've never heard of her before, she's great.
18. - hilarious, beautiful, and captivating characters and faces.
*above*
19. Tony Diterlizzi- really amazing watercolors, and great character/creature designs.
20. Trina Schart Hyman- breathtaking everything. There's nothing she can't draw well
