Description
The main character of my OC project which name I will reveal soon. I'm having trouble naming her. She's from an alternate version of Silesia, and sheβs a young politician who only succeeded because of a cluster of unlikely coincidences, to which she claimed credit for. She is charismatic but reserved, and went through a lot of trouble to get where she is now (the leader of her country).Story is set in 1900-1910s alternate Europe with no WW1 and no Polish Partitions and explores Central Europe's transition into the twentieth century

Sounds amazing! I hear about American industrialism all the time so it would be cool to hear about it in Europe. Europe's industrialization was really significant to the world (including the US). Your character looks pretty cool too! I love charismatic characters, but typically they are all men. It's nice to see a strong female lead who is a personality.Β

This reminds me, I never heard anything about American Industrialism... the thought of America industrializing never occurred to me.... I just assumed it went straight from being independent in 1776 to what it is today The only American history I had was 1930-1970s in my English classes and Assassin's Creed 3
Thank you! Yeah, I never draw girls because I hate drawing girly stuff And yeah, being a female leader in that time setting was challenging

Really? that's interesting! So the US' industrialization happened later compared to Europe's. It's hard to pinpoint, but it's very likely that our industrialization started with the introduction of the cotton jinn. Unfortunately this invention caused the Civil War, and this stalled industrialization, but despite the civil war ripping the country in half industry still managed to explode. It started with the train monopoly, then the oil, electricity, steel, and banks. America's industrialization is what caused our country to develop from the civil war to economic powerhouse it was in the world wars.
This, interestingly enough, was in the span of about 50 years, so a good way to remember what America's industrialization was like is to think of it as puberty.
I know what you mean about the girly think too. I have some friends who like to draw in the lolita or clamp style, but I've never really liked to.Β
Anyways, sorry for the impromptu history lesson but i have a weakness for that time period. I look forward to seeing more of Julia from you!

Oh please, I didn't mind the history lesson at all! In fact, I found it very interesting! I was very stupid to not do history in highschool (because writing essays in English kinda scares me ) so now I'm trying to catch up

Ah, I see. If you ever have a question, hit me up! Even if I don't know, I can get the answer out of someone else. Ah, and yes English (I find) is difficult to get others to write in because the diction and syntax changes dramatically from casual conversations. It is likely the same in other languages, but none the less it makes it hard for non-native speakers to write. The best I could suggest for increasing your formal writing is to follow some good essayists. Reading is really one of the easiest way to get experience, especially with the information age and the general public's aversion to using anything but acronyms and emoji.Β
