Description
An interesting twist to your typical little mermaid. This "mermaid" is a bottom dwelling creature that feeds on other creatures (that's why there's blood on her hands). She's also somewhat a siren, as she uses her beauty to lure in her prey.P.S. You can tell I originally drew this on lined paper.

well, it's what a lot of people imagine and I think there are particle bits near the bottom because that's what the little fishies eat

This image triggered a weird scent illusion for me. It's very hard to describe, it didn't smell anything pleasant, but it took me into the picture for a few moments.
I sound crazy, but I cherish moments like those. So thank you!
Um, now that the lunatic has spoken, on the actual deviation: I like the way her face is built, and the subtle lighting and spots of blood. Her hair obscures her face just enough - I don't think the picture would be the same without, haha.
I usually wouldn't think so, but the lined paper doesn't bother me. I keep looking at it and thinking that it will annoy me, but it doesn't.

That is always the worse, creating an excellent piece and realizing that it's stuck on lined paper. I like this take on a "mermaid" it is a little more explicit than some of the choices. There is the typical toss-up between mermaids who are benign helpful creatures to the mermaid that are vicious predators that like you mentioned use their beauty to subdue their prey. I love the colors/color scheme and the bubble effect you choose to use
