one a few of my old film works that i will be upping here soon.this is a double negative. basically two individual negatives sandwiched together in the negative tray on the enlarger. they are kinda tough as the exposure time is tricky to work with.
negative #1 - graffiti in a boston alleyway
negative #2 - empty subway car, orange line, boston
taken with a 70's era Nikon FM.
this was scanned, on a dusty scanner bed, so no EXIF data.

At first glance it could be perceived as something of a mess. However, when you look closer and study the effect given by the double negative exposure you realise it represents more of an illusion, a dream, or even some ghostscape. Perfect placing of the lone figure, further emphasizing that 'ghostly' feel, and absolutely spot-on wording down the bottom which really summarizes the whole piece. Wonderful and definately worth the DD it got awarded

i am honored it affected you so. it's funny how things can change in presence and delivery once they are combined.
when stress creeps in, it's good to know that everything can be seen differently so long as you put everything on your plate in the right order.

that is exactly right. maybe i should really focus on what i have right now, and like you said put things in order so i can really believe that things can be possible

graffiti is often seen as a nuisance.
empty subways cars can feel very lonely.
put them together and you might find a little inspiration.
keep an eye out for another one of these double negative pieces to be uploaded here soon

This is really awesome. The graffiti makes it look haunting but in a peaceful kind of way, and the message stands clear. It definitely makes me feel ways (good ways). Great art!
