Description
So, it turns out the key to me finishing paintings is making them about the Elder Scrolls series. Dear Princess Celestia, I love Morrowind. God I'm so alone, etc. etc.A painting suggested by--and finished at least partially for--~WilliamSchatz . Two ladies embracin' outside Desele's House of Earthly Delights in Suran. I figure the Redguard is a regular and the Breton has become quite fond of her. I guess there was a rainstorm while they were out on a date, and they ran through it to get the Breton lady back to work? I make up these stories sometimes! It makes it even more interesting.
Anyway, good practice for different types of atmospheres, unusual lighting and colors, and wet fabric. DAMN wet fabric is tricky.
Setting belongs to Bethesda (I may have winged it a little--but it's so rainy and foggy that it's hard to tell)

Um, both of these characters are women! But no, I'm afraid these were both one-off characters, sorry!

MORROWIND PAINTINGS ARE BEST PAINTINGS!
And pony paintings, but that's not relevant here. Unless you paint ponies into Morrowind, which would kick all the ass.
Anyway, amazing piece! Do more!

Okay- just what is going on with the redguard's head? I thought that it was a khajiit until I read the description. The more I look at and try to figure out where everything is the more confused I get, because to me it looks like this: [link] and you understand that forehead is no place for an ear. Whatever it is that you meant you should have emphasized it better what's going on since not much of the face is visible, the ear is the only defining part and viewed in that particular angle it only suggests what I drew in that example. Also the hand grabbing the butt is too small.
Anyways, great lighting! I know wet fabric is tricky but that's a pretty good one.

It's tilted back--you're looking more or less at the underside of her chin (or you would be, if the Breton's head wasn't in the way). I can sketch it for you (like you did!) if you'd like. I'm not sure how clear that is. lol I figured it'd be kind of implied, since that's how I would go about kissing somebody's neck and/or whispering in their ear (and also I thought the emphasized lighter jawline would help), but I suppose that was my mistake. Also yes, I know the hand is too small. I decided it was not a battle I wanted to fight, so...I guess she now has a strangely small hand. Lesson learned for the future.

Whatever you meant, you should have emphasized it more to prevent confusion, showing a little more facial features would have done the trick but please, you can show me the sketch if you want.

lol I think it is a fault of the pose, since there's really no way to show more features when your face is buried in someone's hair or neck area (or, if you try, it tends to look a little...weird...I think I tried to fit some mouth in there but there's a lot of stuff in the way so it swings the way of the Joker's SUPER LONG MOUTH--which is definitely not what I want). Ahh well. [link] Here's the (really terrible and inappropriately serious-expressioned) sketch.

Oohh thanks for the sketch, that definately shed some light on the matter. Then, if it's not too much trouble for you could you consider removing the darker yellow... wrinkle below the ear and above the dark curls of the breton- the line that I mistook for an eyebrow? That would clear up things as others might be pondering upon this as well

lol I think that's supposed to be hair and it just got blended out. Sure, I can fix that. Thanks for the input!

Morrowind! *squees* I love Morrowind so much <3 I love all the Elder Scrolls games, but Vvardenfell feels like home to me no matter how much Skyrim, Oblivion, Daggerfall, (even Bloodmoon and Tribunal expansions) or otherwise I play.
(And then Morrowind theme happened to come on the Elder Scrolls medley I was listening to).
This painting is so sweet. Cute little Breton girl. <3 I think you captured the rain and its effects upon the world around it very well, as well as the mood! It'd be super cool if you managed to animate the rain, somehow, and add in flashes of lightning...o: But still, a magnificent piece.

lol Same here! I just hear the music from the game and suddenly it's like WAVES OF NOSTALGIA and sudden inspiration. Probably a dangerous crutch to have but who caaares, Morrowiiiiiiiind. <3
lol If only I had any talent in that sort of thing, I might try it. But I appreciate the comment, thank you!

<3333333 I'm sure someday you will! I actually played Morrowind after Skyrim (it was the gateway to the awesomeness of Elder Scrolls) but mmmm <33333333. I even ended up making an RP about it, as I really wanted to write within Vvardenfell! X3
I am so happy seeing all these Morrowind-arts in my inbox <3
