Happy remake!! Here's hoping it doesn't get screwed up??? (Fingers crossed, holy shit.)
Fun fact, I actually planned an FF7 print after Nebkon last year, but I scrapped the composition a few months ago and sketched this up instead. And, of course, the new trailer for the FF7 remake really got me excited about finishing this, so…here we are! Another print down.
I think it’s been…3 years since I drew Sephiroth last (10 since I painted him), and 9 since I painted or drew Cloud. HOO BOY, it is weird and satisfying to be back!
Also HUGE thanks to everybody who helped out with this one! You guys are the best!

I love these! I also really like how both of their faces aren't shaped the same, too. I've been tsundere around FF7 lately since the announcement of the remake, but the recent trailer and its showing of a newer battle system makes it look very interesting from a gameplay perspective. I've placed too much importance on FF7 as a story, and have gotten upset when they've done things like flatten Hojo's character out in Dirge of Cerberus and miss the chance to address his conflict with Vincent directly. For a while, I was really afraid that any new input would completely mess my perception of FF7 up, but after a break from the fandom (I think I got 4 months away before I gave in), caring so much about this game in its original form while trying to navigate the gigantic, divisive fanbase just isn't worth it. I plan to sequester myself and enjoy this remake as much as I can, other fans that disagree with me be damned.

The original Combat System is already butchered in the remake, that instantly kills it for me, it just does... -_-
