more clip art i drew and inked for the Hellboy animated movies.BTW, the character, obviously created by Mike Mignola....but this animated design was designed by Sean Galloway.

Figured this was you! I was watching Hellboy in the summer and noted that the art style was the same as The new X men cartoon! I love your work. Your work really has inspired me in school and out side it. I would really like to learn from you.

ahhhh, i wish i could take credit for Hellboy animated, but the lead on that was all Sean "Cheeks" Galloway. i just followed his style is all. we do both design on shapes....which is what all good designers do. you probably caught that similarity.

it took me a few minutes in front of a mirror with a prop to get that natural feel.
i think stylized art like animation looks so much better when you reference complicated poses like this.....
of course, that is, you're not a slave to that reference.

That's it! The old trick of using yourself or a friend as a model is what always makes the pic a little more complex and realistic^^ but as you said only using it as reference, no coping
