Description
I got a recent PM asking about my sketchbook....wether I could post a peek of it. well, here's a couple of shot of my small sketchbook ( sorry it took so long). I have two. one larger than this and this one. I like to think I use the larger one to do all my main doodling in....imean, it's larger ,right? more space....easier to draw. funny thing is, it's my small sketch book that gets all the attention. I think it's because I don't take it seriously....thus, I find myself sketching truly for fun in. here's what I've done recently...Related content

as a lifelong IM obsessive (and one who has drawn most of the armors, and many times) I find this era of the armor elusive, because it trades so heavily on the 'four-color' nature of comic production... it was drawn like spandex. The more you try and rationalize it down to some combination of smartfabric for the limbs and hard shell musculature-shaped components for the boots, gloves, torso, helmet etc the stranger it looks. This is true with really any of the armors that predate the IM film and eventual transition to a truly armored lookΒ in the comics. Eric Canete is the one that really nailed it for me in realizing that to make it work you HAVE to go loose on what is or isn't solid material, and play with the proportions. Let the helmet get longer, the eye and mouth slits move around... let it get lanky and cool... you nailed it similarly...
