Description
Had the honor to create the poster motive for a meeting about placoderms and meteors! Of course such a meeting needs some dinosaurs in the picture, but I wouldn't dare to mess up stratigraphy, so we found a way around thisSave the date!
"On Wednesday 23rd October, our third paleontological duolecture will be held at the ‘Vrije Universiteit’ of Brussels. We welcome none other than Professor dr. Philippe Claeys from the AMGC research group (geochemistry) and Dr. Sebastien Olive from the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS). Everyone is welcome at this duo lecture on the impact of meteors and the extinction of dinosaurs and other life forms, as well as on the fascinating research on placoderms. Both lectures will take place at the VUB campus in Etterbeek (Pleinlaan 2, 1050 Brussels) in building D, room D.2.01 (promotion room) at 8 pm. Admission is free and we welcome everyone who is interested in earth sciences, biology and paleontology on this special evening. ***Lectures in English***"

Hey, what’s the head of a T.rex doing in a Devonian era setting?

Ok hen, do the age of the dinosaurs will begin shortly after the Permian extinction? And this is the second major mass extinction of the Paleozoic. What’s more, I would want to to fave more of my artwork soon, for we want to be friends in regards to the same realistic Paleo art theme used

This may be the first time I've ever seen anyone create an image of dunkleosteus with a lobed finned tail like a shark. I've seen in every single book (Including the how-to-draw ones!) this fish drawn with a smaller more primitive tail design.

There is a paper on this matter that shows that the form of the fin is usually more linked to ecology than phylogeny. As a open water predator Dunkleosteus had most likely a tail fin similar to open water sharks.

It makes more sense with those big armored heads being pushed through the sea.
