What parts of your prompt were written well and easy to understand? Was there anything the writer of the prompt could improve on or include next time they create a prompt?

First of all this prompt was really old, I feel so bad. It’s all the way from 2015!!! Anyway, this prompt was very simple to understand and alot of fun. It made me have to look through all their art and unique OCs to find an example of how they wanted a humanoid bird creature to be like, which was super fun because I got to see alot of neato birds turned into rad characters.

Please explain how you interpreted the prompt to create your design. Which features did you use? Did you stick to the chosen palette or make changes to it? Does the design you created have any special abilities or quirks?

Basically I just took the bird (bluethroat) and made it into a man. At first I had alot of trouble figuring out what direction to interpret artist. At first I was like “wow I can make him a CON artist” and he looked alot like Mephistopheles from Faust but I thought that would be too much of a bad joke so I went for something more serious.

The dull brown with the bright oranges and blue made me think of a minimalist painter, so I went to try that too. But it just didn’t seem to fit right and none of the minimalist painters had the right look I wanted.

In the end, I was listening to some pretty piano music and staring at the bird and I realized that bluethroat birds have really dainty little feet and talons that reminded me of the typical piano player fingers.

So I created this guy! He’s kind of an older man who plays piano with a lot of emotion and soul in it. He also has amazing hair and eyebrows and a lovely beard mustache combo~ Mainly because the birds themselves have amazing eyebrows and I wanted him to be kind of ginger ish~

I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to give him wings as well or not, so I included them on the sheet just as an example of what their design would look like, whether it’s on him or not in the end.

I’m really proud of this design holy crap. Not sure what my style is doing though (oops).

But this was heavily inspired by anubisgrl ’s characters and style, so shout out to my muse.
