Description
For Arkneos404
What parts of your prompt were written well and easy to understand? Was there anything the writer of the prompt could improve on or include next time they create a prompt?
This prompt was really easy to understand. It gave enough of a pointer to say “Hey I really like these things and colours” without restricting what I could do with designing, despite the fact that this was intended to almost be a very typical furry character.
Please explain how you interpreted the prompt to create your design. Which features did you use? Did you stick to the chosen palette or make changes to it? Does the design you created have any special abilities or quirks?
For this prompt I decided to go with a Kangaroo rat. They’re super cute little rodents and I felt that it fit really well with the cute small animal mouse type category that Arkneos404 suggested. However, since the character was supposed to be unique and eye catching, I drew inspiration mainly from the blue and pink colours that were suggested. I used those for the different fur and interspersed it with white freckling, giving it sort of a cloudy pastel feel to it. The base colour is a light purplish mix between the two, so that there wouldn’t be such a eyestrain against pure white.
I couldn’t find an exact name for any style of clothing choice I chose? But it sort of just ended up being short and cute with loose tops. I felt it went nicely with the anatomy I chose for converting the animal into an anthro form. The upper body is sort of thin and frail, and the loose shirts would help to cover that up and give it more substance via clothing material. The pants/bottoms were short and close fitting, giving emphasis to the more powerful legs.
I chose a more sexless body type so that it could be easily change if needed, but still included a very feminized hip style. Sort of a pear shaped body with legs for days, but still flat chested and no clear gentilia to distinguish the actual sex, if any. The real focus for me was the legs, since kangaroo rats are obvious jumpers and their hind region is so much more obvious than their tiny front legs. I didn’t want to give the character short arms though and a big butt, so I thought feminized hips would be the best option. I also couldn’t decide whether they’d walk more on their toes to make themselves look taller or if they’d walk with more of a bend in their knees, so I just included both positions as an example. Choice is still up to Arkneos404
I included a few other outfits too, because I felt like the character needed some to compensate for lack of a name for the clothing style. I also included sort of a hair growth example with that since choosing just one hairstyle was difficult.
I spruced the character up with more than just a few accessories. Piercings galore, tons of jingly trinkets, and toe rings. For me it was sort of the furry equivalent of a mouse collecting things and stuffing it in its cheeks, but in this case they collects things to adorn their body.

So I think that’s all I have to say and I hope you like it, Arkneos404 !! Sorry that I might have gotten a little carried away with drawing the prompt and it turned more into a reference sheet.

Gosh, I am so sorry this took me so long to get to, I just couldn't think of a great way to really portray just how much I love this design! Still can't, honestly, but I feel my time is up so I will do my very best;
I really, really love the animal you chose! It was just what I wanted, but without being so cliche is to just be a bunny or a mouse. Kangaroo rats have always been one of the cutest animals I have ever known about, too. Just. Gosh. The colors are just perfect, too!! Did I tell you I loved pastels before?? Regardless, I am very happy you put them into the design, and used the clothing to put in the other colors I like!! The design is too painstakingly cute for me, Usagi! This is wonderful.
I don't think the clothing has a style, no, but oh my gosh it fits the design so, so much!! Like oh my gosh!! It's the best and I love it. It's just so lose and comfortable looking, and really looks like something the character would chose to wear out of their own, personal reasons.
I really love that you made it sexless, Usagi, thank you <3 <3 and those hips are just perfect and make the best sense! It is a 'jumping' rat! I tihnk the over all anatomy is perfect, and I really love how you drew the feet most of all!
Each of the outfits are wonderful, Usagi! You had ne need to actually have a style in mind, but thank you so much!! The hairstyles for each one are also wonderful, my friend, thank you <3 <3
And aahhh, the accessories, of, the accessories!! I love them all so much, and the explanation for them is really clever and I love it.
Don't you apologize for it vbeing mor of a character reference, either!! This is amazing, and I can't thank you enough for how much work you've put into this, like...It's just brilliant, Usagi. I can't even begin to describe how much I really love this design! I've already collected references and stuff so I can make it my own reference (I haven't used any pronouns yet either btw because I'm still not sure what it'll be quite yet~!), I am just so excited for this character. Thank you, Usagi! Thank you <3
P.S. could I have a version without the watermarks to download for a reference~? Thank you!!

Nah, don't worry about it. As long as you like it take as long as you need.
I'm glad you liked the animal choice. I've never drawn a Kangaroo rat before, so it was a nice challenge. And no you've never told me you liked pastels but I'm glad you think they look well with the design. Ehe, thanks. I just kind of threw the clothing on there. I'm glad you like the anatomy!! I really liked doing the feet too, Kangaroo rats have such interesting little toes! As for accessories I thought maybe she was a fashion designer or maybe a photographer for a magazine. She'd get dibs and special insight onto the latest fashion, plus she somehow reminds me of one. Not sure why but just throwing that out there.
Can't wait to see them in your style/what you do with them!!

They look so adorable that I'd want to keep one at my place, if I didn't have a cat already! XD
