The Yellowjacks were formed in 1964 by Flt Lt Lee Jones, a veteran of 111 Sqn's Black Arrows, at No. 4 FTS, RAF Valley. During the single season in which they displayed, The Yellowjacks gained a reputation for striking performances. The Red Arrows were formed in 1965 from pilots (and aircraft) originating from The Yellowjacks.
