My first illustration assignment from this semester! My goal for right now is to improve on the things that I haven't been so good at in the past (namely, drawing people and perspective)
So considering that, I think I'm finally getting somewhere. It's certainly not perfect, but it's something.
The assignment was to illustrate a word- any word of our choice- and have the class guess it from the picture. WELL, GUESS WHAT THE WORD WAS. YOU MIGHT FIND IT IN THE TITLE.

you really have come a long way with your people, i especially like their hands?? you've drawn them really simplistically but they look really accurate at the same time. major hand envy going on here haha
but damn, i really love those TEXTURES. especially on the windows, how did you get them?? the colours are really cool as well, they're just vibrant enough to make the picture come alive but look natural at the same time?

The textures are basically from layering over with watercolor and acrylic paint many times. heh.

It's actually not entirely watercolors though, it's several layers of watered down acrylic over a base layer of watercolor.

It's a lot of fun to experiment with traditional media. You can do so many things with it and you can really combine anything! xD

This is such a cute idea! I love the roughness of coloring, and the expressions on their faces are really good! Great line work, and I think the perspective looks pretty believable as well!
