dunno honestly! when i was littler i had an au where toothless does get a love interest in the at-that-point-unknown third movie but its another dude night fury and one of them is trans. my script included a scene where hiccup briefly tried to call either of them girls / she/her and they both completely ignored him until he went back to calling them guys tho
