Description A Vampire drinking wine in a private jet, flying to Rio de Janero in broad daylight? The stories got everything wrong.
-Pip Bernadotte

Considering that, before Metrocon 2011, that I hadn't seen a palm tree in 16 years, I was VERY excited to go out and take some photos amongst them! I would like to think that this resembles the battle in Rio de Janero from Hellsing OVA III... at least, I thought so when I was spazzing out and posing for these photos. XD

The military jacket, skirt, Harkonnen rifle, and wig styling were completed with love by me. The gloves were purchased, then altered by me.

This was the first costume that I ever made that included full contact lenses and prosthetic teeth. I'm very excited to have gone all out on this. I adore this character! I also deeply identify with her. This was a very special costume to make for me.

This photo was taken by the gorgeous , who was my amazing Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing for Metrocon 2011.

More to come! Stay tuned! *Spazz*

Silly girls, always hydrate (that's the Dad and Army officer in me telling you that) Even in winter. And it's even more important for women. Of course, I understand the outfits may have contributed just a tad....

During the 1991 Gulf war, we were to drink 3 gallons per man per day. I still dropped 22 lbs in the 6 months I was there.

The sad part is that this was a re-shoot; the first shoot ended up being too scandalous. XD Because I'm very picky about that, I convinced to get out of the air conditioning again to do a second shoot with me. XD (She's a real trooper for doing that; you would never know from the videos and photos, but she was suffering from Bronchitis the entire weekend. Luckily, I had one more day off after we returned home, so I spent it shuttling her to two different hospitals to take care of it. She's starting to feel better. )

Thank you for the advice, for sharing your wisdom, and for serving in the army. I give HUGE credit with anybody with the amount of bravery that it takes to do so. I spoke to someone who served in the military a little while ago who said the same thing; he said that all of the soldiers drank huge volumes of water, but they still ended their days highly dehydrated from the activity. I always keep that in mind. Even when I'm sitting down, I'm constantly drinking water.
Wearing the uniforms was the most difficult part of standing in the heat, as you undoubtedly know. For someone who lives in my area, (which is a frozen tundra for 6 months out of the year... it's time to move to the tropics. XD) I love and can tolerate high heat more than many others that I know. However, Florida was still a stretch for me (which is a shame because the weather was beautiful.)
Thank you again! I really appreciate it!

Heh, Never cared much for Florida, I prefer Maine. But, instead of going to the Baltimore Comic-con this year (and seeing my friends Frank Cho and Brandon Peterson) I'll be on a cruise to Bermuda. I'm kinda torn..... But, it's our 30th anniversary so I guess I gotta go, eh!

icequeenserenity In reply to Gremlich [2011-06-23 05:32:45 +0000 UTC]

Really? I only like Maine during the Summer; it's a frozen tundra for most of the year! I love wherever it is warm, the people are easy going, and I can see palm trees.
And yes, happy 30th anniversary to you and yours! That's fabulous!

Thanks for saying that! It takes guts. Hooray for finding powerful women to be sexy! I feel the exact same way. (Hence my love for Sexy and powerful all the way. ) I'll admit right now that I watched at least 2 full-day marathons of America's Next Top Model while making this costume. XD One detail that I noticed when watching the show was that the very best models weren't standing up straight or arching their back like a good nun would tell them to. XD They were slouching, leaning forward, and really expressing themselves for the camera. I took what I saw was successful on the show and applied it when I wore the costume.

your most welcome for the comment.
and thank you for sharing the pics so i can make such a comment.
i have to say im not a fan of american idol or shows like that.
but what you seem to have gathered by watching those shows seem to have said off in a big way.
and your right about models not keeping themselves in a straight or stiff pose.
the natural curves of the female body seem to really come into play with poses like these.
its beautiful and classy without showing lots of skin. IE topless, pantyshot.
this is the kind of thing i love to see, a classy and beautiful pic with a beautiful woman!
i dont think there is anything else i can say that is not already been said!
well done!

The weird part is that I almost never watch reality TV either (except for Rupaul's Drag Race. ) I only turn the TV on in the first place when I'm working on a costume and have already run out of good music and movies. XD I happened to find that show very inspiring, and I'm glad that you liked the results of what I absorbed from it.
Thank you also for appreciating the lack of cheap skin-showing! I'm terribly picky about what I choose to show and what photos I choose to post. XD I honestly think that well placed clothing (or clothing in teasing places) is far sexier than no clothing at all. It leaves far more to imagine, which leads to more mystery, anticipation, and fun.

Cheers to strong women, and thanks again!

i feel the same way about having clothing in teasing places and in teasing ways.
it does very much leave more to the imagination.
and im glad to see your a strong woman that chooses to show only the best pics and makes sure not to show to much skin.
i think that is quite mature of you to show the better pics and not try to throw out more runchy pics just for a quick page view or comment.
kudos to you.

indeed, cheers to strong women and your most welcome.
PS
feel free to post as many pics to my #Cosplay-Raider as you wish!
i cant get enough of your hellsing work!
it is quite truly a work of art!!

Dear Seras,
You always surprise me how much ass you kick in leggings and a miniskirt. Who needs Alucard when I got such a sexy Draculina to fight for me? *laughs and takes puff of cigar* Just remember draculina... I am always watching from behind my large round glasses. mmmmm See me in my office at midnight. I have something special for you. ;D

*Laughs* Oh goodness Police Girl... When is your master Alucard going to start teaching you how to walk through walls. That would cut down the time by at least half. Just don't think you will pull off sneaking into my room at night for a quick drink. I sleep with one eye open, a gun and a sword. You're master has tasted my bullets at late hours of the night plenty of times. And I am always dressed to kill. You're only allowed to do so when I say you are. *grins* Got that my precious Hellsing pet? So no midnight snacks unless I give the orders to do so. Now be here on time or no surprise.
Love

Hi! I bought the teeth from vampfangs.com. They're from the Scarecrow brand, which you can custom mold to your own teeth. They're very inexpensive, look real, and snap on and off easily, which I love.

Oh wow nice store for cosplay purposes! And they actually ship to my country too yay! Thank you for the info and help I have triend some fake teeth but they are no good since they never fit to my teeth... so it's really cool there's a product you can mold to match your own teeth.

LOL You even got the conveniently just barely hidden panty shot that you ALWAYS get in the manga!

Seriously though, this is AMAZING! The wig, the eyelashes, the contacts, the teeth, the costume, THE RIFLE, EVERYTHING is just PERFECT!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

icequeenserenity In reply to LingLKS [2011-06-21 02:50:18 +0000 UTC]

OOOOHMAHGAHD JOANIE, YOU WERE THE FIRST TO MENTION THE LASHES! I love them, SERIOUSLY! When I did the makeup for this costume, I refused to get out of bed until my eyes looked demonic. (True story. XD) Those eyelashes really helped to make that happen! They're my favorite. (I used the same type for Flemeth. ) They're one of those subtle touches that really make an impact on the entire costume. For Seras, I created a "fiery" makeup theme, with golden, peach, and orange eye shadow, red contact lenses, black and white liner, brow pencil, and lashes. When I opened my eyes to see the finished product, I saw a completely different stare than the one I saw when I woke up in the morning. I love that; the transformation is one of my favorite aspects of cosplay in general. Thank you for the comment!
