Description
Done in Blender with 500 samples and post processing in Gimp. I rendered out on to a photo background from pixabay. I hope you like it

This is a really intriguing picture. Immediately brought to mind images of the Acanti (X-Men) or Spacewhale (Doctor Who).
The detailing on the turtle is nicely done with the scales and skin coming together nicely and the texturing is good.
The environment is well constructed and the dusk setting casts a nice colour across the picture.
The only thing that does stand out for me though is that the lighting on the front back of the oasis does not cast any light onto the ground or change the shadows at the front of the turtle. As such, it clashes a little with the ground there. Also, the blue used for shadows may have been better with something like cold grey 6. Sorry, that's the only way i can describe it as those are the names for the polychromos pencils.

This piece is really beautiful, I could look at it all day. It's surreal yet realistic at the same time and very coherent. From the thumbnail I thought the entire thing could have easily been a photomanip or even a painting but it's very much a 3D model and render which I think is even more impressive. Excellent work!

Even though the scale of the turtle, the island on the turtle, and the surface island the turtle is on, goes against our intuition, the piece looks amazingly realistic, correlated, and nothing looks the wrong size (now, I'd never think a building and a pond would fit so nice on turtle's back)Β
The lighting and contrast look flawless. It looks strongly colored, but it doesn't look burned. I find nothing to critique here.Β
The water in the lake on the back is somewhat tricky, the surface of water always aligns with the earth surface, so that's something to watch out for.Β
My favorite thing is that this piece is so pleasant to look at

The lake defies the laws of physics actually, it would have to flow down the side of the turtle if there was gravity in my image xD

as an option, lake flowingΒ down the side of the turtleΒ bcs of the tilt is not a bad idea, maybe you can try that concept in future.Β
What that would do is make a physical connection, like the world on the turtle's back(in this case) spilling into the turtles world.Β
