I've known him for a really long time! It's also really easy to tell when they're going to move. The good thing about tigers is that they're so lazy so they probably won't go out of their way to bite ya if they're comfortable with you

Tigers are like, the second most laid back of the big cats, next to Cheetahs. They KNOW they're bad-ass, and thus have no need to prove it.
I know a guy who used to care for leopards and cougars (among others). It was always cool to see them, but sometimes a little scary because they didn't know me as well.

Yeah, it was his black leopard who got him in trouble.
It's also a REALLY bad idea to be around big cats if you're a drug user. Something doesn't smell right to them about potheads, and they're more likely to attack.

Tigers truly are magnificent animals, aren't they? Even so, I have to confess I would have been afraid to get THAT close to one. You're brave.

well that's one of the only things. They chuff though, it's kind of like a deep "fufufu" noise in the throat, which is the closest they'll get to purring. They do it when they're saying hi.. or like if something scares them, and you chuff at them they'll chuff back and feel better. Basic friendly jesture
