The three eyed smiley can probably be found in several places, but for me it's a Transmetropolitan (cyberpunk comic) fan thing. It's the symbol of the Transient movement; people who do cyborg like body mods.
Nothing to do with the concept, just a personal detail for me and the green weirdo in the picture.
