Inspired by Bipolar Disorder. Bipolar is characterized as a major mood disorder in which manic episodes occur, causing drastic shifts in one's mood, energy level, and ability to function. Despite the classic form, by which bipolar presents itself with both manic and depressive poles, it can be recognized without the occurrence of the depressive episodes. Current symptoms include the onset of mania, the onset of euphoria or overwhelming joy, reduced need for sleep, followed or not followed by reduced motivation, low energy, and lack of interest in daily activities. There are two categories of bipolar, defined as Type I and Type II. People who experience Type II, in contrast to Type I, will experience shifts from intense depressive episodes to "hypomania" rather than full-blown mania. The severity of the experience provides an evident difference between the types. It is often the result of either genetic inheritence, environmental, and/or developmental factors. When we are aren't able to process with logic in response to trauma/abuse/neglect (as with majority of human beings, especially as children, when we aren't even ABLE to), we feel the trauma fully as it impacts the nervous system and brain development. Mental processes are a leading cause to alter the brain chemistry and physical structure of brain matter. With this confirmed information, we are aware of impermanence.
