Description
Inspired by Schizophrenia and the state of Psychosis. One feels the presence of a separation or dissociation between the functions of feeling and/or emotion on one hand and those of thinking and/or cognition on the other. This can be directly translated to being a "horizontal splitting in the mind," and commonality of consistent appearance is in the description of an “influencing machine,” wherein torment is inflicted upon the individual from afar. There is an onset of deterioration from previous levels of social, cognitive and vocational function. Schizophrenia usually presents itself before midlife (40-50 years of age) and determination of the condition must have duration of at least half a year. Most tellingly, there is a pattern of features including thought disturbances, unusual illusions, hallucinations (most commonly, but not limited to, auditory), a disturbed sense of self, and a loss of reality-testing.
