Description Although this is only a simple twist on gnarled glynnias , the result is so different that it deserves its own moniker. Geological abstract? Whatever, it's something that needs to be rendered internally as Chaotica still renders some glynnias differently.

This reminds me of some of the plastic style pieces i used to do, just really gnarled out, do you use oscilloscope in this at all?

Yes, it does look a little like those, perhaps even more irregular No oscilloscope, just the glynnia chain-linked to bwraps then whorl.

Oh cool, I just had gotten a similar texture using oscilloscope. Glynnia flames are somethng i would like to check out.

I'm still trying to make something remotely look alike this... I guess I'll never get there, and therefore, so happy you do!

I've been after this look in Apo for years, after seeing such abstracts from UF [link] Then it crops up quite unexpectedly like this!

Every time you post a work like this makes me want to try myself. Heheh. You are truly the inspiration for me to try this amazing style.

Well, the secret here, once you have a gnarled glynnia that you're happy with, is to further link the bwraps xform to a whorl xform, beginning with whorl_inside = 0 and gradually increasing (around 0.2 is good). Then patience for the necessarily high-quality render

So... and sorry, Apophysis is not my battlefield, or, better saying, it is totally my battlefield, because I'm really at loss most of the times in there.
I do a gnarl (like the tutorials that are around dA, I suppose it will be enough, right?), apply glynnia and this glynnia (that I really like to use, it is a cool plugin) goes in a new transform? No final transforms here, just regular transforms, right? then I do a whorl tx and link it with a bwraps tx? the whorl transform did escape me completely, I confess. I've some experience with bwraps. Since it showed up, I use it a lot , but I'm totally a stranger to whorl...

Sorry about all these questions. It is ok if you don't want to answer them.

Yeah, definitely a bit of gnarl going down there! But as yet, not many fresh avenues opening up with the style. I shall continue to pursue...
