Description Lines of latitude, longitude; compass points; the green of the land; the blue of water; and red, of desert, heat, fire... All spiralling to the singluarity. Are we too late?

Thank you indeed That kind of 'busyness' is often (but most certainly not always) a feature of fractals

IDeviant In reply to baba49 [2007-10-22 12:33:50 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I wonder how many people see 'm' for 'n'? I like that word 'dynamic' too - it picks up on the whole spiral-as-a-verb feel

I am not sure altogether how many people read titles all the time. I notice that sometimes I don't. But I caught on to this one at once

I really like the combination of structure and chaos (the straight lines and the more random patterns) and the blotches of colour. Excellent job!

IDeviant In reply to BrokenFate117 [2007-10-22 12:19:23 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I like"structure and chaos" - almost as though the one delineates the other

I love the spirals among the longitude and latitude lines. Nicely done.
I did one on global warming this weekend, too. It is certainly on the mind. I know your question is rhetorical, but I will answer it anyway. I hate to be pessimistic, but yes, we are probably too late. Mainly because people don't believe it is real and there are too many that don't care to change in the ways required to slow it down.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IDeviant In reply to peggymintun [2007-10-22 09:47:31 +0000 UTC]

I think it would happen anyway due to the natural solar cycle, but human stupidity has accelerated the inevitable. But even if our emissions weren't to blame, it still makes no sense to pollute the environment that we expect to sustain us. However, I continue to act as though we can make a difference.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

peggymintun In reply to IDeviant [2007-10-22 09:59:32 +0000 UTC]

You are probably right about it being inevitable and part of a cycle. We definitely could make a difference...I am just more than a little cynical, I guess, when it comes to corporations and the government (US) making an impact.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IDeviant In reply to peggymintun [2007-10-23 12:33:23 +0000 UTC]

Indeed! I tend to focus on what difference I can make, not out of an idea of self-importance but rather that change must begin with oneself.
