Haha, I was just having a conversation about this. One of the guys I go to class with at Uni is a twilightrabidfan and I said the same thing...and he said "No, No, he doesn't sparkle, he SHIMMERS..." I was like lol, either way...men don't normally do that...
PS. I am an Anne Rice fan (before she found Jesus), so I go by the Anne Rice vampire bible, so twilight is blasphemy...

Yeah, she is. I've only read a few of the vampire chronicles, I'm not into her witch books. The first three in the Vampire Chronicles are the best, after that they go down hill.

"Real men don't sprakle." Hehe. This is so true! I usually like vampirs and the sf/fantasy genres. If a character sparkled, I usually wouldn't mind. What really bothered me was that the sunlight is supposed to hurt vampires, being one of their (few) weaknesses. Instead, she (the author) has taken a weakness and turned it into....sparkling. Therefore, it's as if the vampires (especially Edward) don't have any weaknesses/flaws at all, which makes them very undeveloped characters.
Anyway, sorry for the rant.
