Description
I dont wanna say much about this i think. obviously it isnt much of an eye catcher, but, well, who cares.. i think it has a major Opeth influence... the song Hope Leaves in particular...just for the files: it took about >30 hours to make that scene and this rendering took 16 hours. I hope its because of my slow computer and not because of my crappy modelling. So, a question for Cinema 4d users: I created the walls using loft nurbs, because i didnt want to have sharp edges, but, or obviously, i ended up with a very complex model, for my standards at least.. i first tried it by polygon editing but wasnt entirely satisfied with the result. Iยดd appreciate some advice i think. The final scene had about 65000 polygons.
Some general hints about the lightning would also be nice, it took quite some time to get the lightning from this picture, after i accidently wrecked a better composition. I dont have radiosity or caustics, so what would be the best way to illuminate such a scene?
Thanks for comments.

I have to disagree with you. This certainly IS an eyecatcher. Beautiful work. I love all the shading in this piece. And you've got an eye for all kinds of details. Keep up the beautiful work!

Yeah well, its all black and white and so on, i guess this is pretty much unusual for 3d renderings, atleast when i look through the 3d gallery here

that's a stunner. the only thing that bothers me is the iron grating on the french door, it doesn't seem coherent or orderly enough to be a design for a door, but the rest of the scene is jaw dropping. really, that little thing pales in contrast with the rest of the scene. great job.

I agree with you, somehow i never lost the "plastic" feeling about the door...

oh man, freaking gorgeous. much more of a mood-setter than most 3D work. the shattered glass is absolutely quality!

Thanks. I think that many 3D pieces, as great as the modelling often might be, immensely lack atmosphere. My general intention isnt making a great model or whatever but to get a moody picture. It partially worked out here

Wow, fantastic job creating a scene, I wish I could help you out but I've never used Cinema 4D, I love the things people produce with it though!

Cinema 4D is a great program, especially because it has a huge amount of features but is still easy to learn all the basisc with a nice design. I like it

Incredible. Just incredible. The scene itself is astonishing enough, but the light and the glow, not to mention the attention to details makes this piece more than 3D, it's a feeling.
Incredible.
