Description
Robot Wars: Metal Mayhem was released in December 2000 for the Game Boy Colour, and had an... Interesting selection of robots from the show. It was the least of that game's problems, but it was still pretty questionable. I've already built most of the roster, so here's the rest, barring Scutter's Revenge, for reasons which may become obvious soon.Dundee - It's predecessor Loco reached the arena stage in Series 2, but lost to Cassius in it's first battle. Dundee fought against Cassius 2 and lost in round one of Series 3.
Purple Predator - From the team who would bring us Granny's Revenge in Series 5. This robot was not good. It had a flipper and a saw, but the saw fell off as soon as it started moving, and the fur lining the robot jammed the flipper. Lost to a judges decision in round one. It's only claim to fame is it's the only fur-covered robot not to get set on fire.
Terminal Ferocity - Fought Facet in the first round, and was flipped almost immediately, and lost. Bit of a pattern emerging here.
Milly-Ann Bug - Winner of Most Original Entry in Series 2, which makes it the most notable of these five robots. Drove itself into the pit after miscalculating a charge on it's opponent Bumblebot, and went out in the first round. Not the best model I've made, but this one can't really be done without using printing to get the face right.
Crasha Gnasha - The first opponent faced by Fire Storm, it was flipped over just by colliding with the future Grand Finalist, and so, like the others, lost in the first round. Due to the GBC's limited colour palette, this robot was just a purple oval, with red wheels and a mouse tail.

I remember being a kid, playing Metal Mayhem for the first time and being like "I've never heard of half these robots!" Didn't help that I only caught bits and pieces of Series 3 and only really started watching properly around Series 4 or so.

I watched Series 3 from about halfway through the heats, and I didn't recognize a few of them. In fact, apart from Milly-Ann Bug, all of the other robots in this image debuted after I started watching, and I still had no idea who they were. The roster feels like the devs only saw a couple of episodes, as the 17 robots in the game all came from 5 episodes.

Only 5 episode? I hadn't noticed, but that's a good theory. I always figured they just went for more unique-looking robots to make the roster look more diverse.
