Description
Had to keep this under my hat until it became available⦠CoinsAndPins.com has replicas of my cosmolabe for sale! They are made for geocaching enthusiasts and are (IMHO) super-snazzy!Link:

Click on "Geocoins Available" in the sidebar and scroll down the page. There will be a link under the animated gif.
I'd link directly but Deviant Art sucks at complex HTML, evidently.
Better links in my LiveJournal: [link]

Thank you for this amazing Geocoin! I just got one for Christmas and I am so happy about it Is it right that this instrument is also part of a movie?

I'm glad you enjoy it! The movie is on hold at the moment and may become a book instead.

... I only just found this - and really wanted one - and noticed that presales have ended... will it ever be available again? It's a gorgeous reproduction of your work!

This one is a reproduction... machine engraved. The original (see Enigmatic Instrument in my gallery) was acid etched.

Ahh, I see...even so, setting up an acid etch takes quite a bit of ability, so I salute your efforts...well done!!

Hmm. The one you're holding appears to be silver (finish?), but the ones I see on the site are brass?

They have both silver and brass. And in the special set of three... polished gold!

Follow the link to CoinAndPins.com and all the info will be there.
I licensed the design to them, so I'm not really involved in the business.

That's pretty cool. Is the one pictured in your hand one of the actual coins, or is it your original art?

iisaw In reply to Culturedropout [2009-08-29 01:07:07 +0000 UTC]
That's one of actual coins. The original is in my gallery as "Enigmatic Instrument".

I see that now. The original is gorgeous, and I'm really impressed by the quality of the replica. Do they do the assembly for you too, or do you get them made in parts and put them together yourself?

Do you know what the pre-order terms are? The link on the page doesn't work, and I've been unable to locate it on the main site
This really is beautiful
