Description
So... I've always been very skeptical about how wings look on angels. Because, c'mon, those dainty things can't get a human off the ground. Thus, this study/anatomy/chart was created!I'm so glad you guys didn't have to see me awkwardly stretching my arms and walking like a chicken while I tried to figure this out. I stumbled on your pic while looking for some good basic wing structure, and I gotta say I am mightily impressed. Your theory on angels looks very plausible, except for two flaws I couldn't help but notice while looking at the clavicle pictures:
The human and bird shoulders are of the same length, so they could knock into each other each time the guy flaps his wings. That could pop out the bird shoulder articulation in the long run, leaving the poor guy stuck on the ground.
Another danger to look out for is the crossing of both human and bird clavicles on the front; the bones look like they're touching to me and if they can touch, they can also grind each other when summoned. Cumulative bone usure can result in the break of one or both bones after a few years, and that could be very painful for your angels to go through.
So, the anatomy is great and the idea is not one to throw to the garbage because it -is- plausible, however I think your little angels need two or three more evolutionary steps before they can safely take flight to claim the skies. Awesome work still got getting all the way there with science

Thank you for your insight! While this isn't the most perfect wing structure, it was my attempt to try something different. I have a big problem with wings on humans anyway, haha.

I do like the approach you're taking here and I like the concept, however to achieve flight the wings of a creature needs to be closer to the center of their weight, and considering how incredibly heavy a humans legs are your wings need to be placed much lower on the back to allow for even distribution of the body weight in flight.
The way you have it laid out they would have to have an incredibly long neck t counterbalance the rest of the body weight. XD So this would theoretically work well for a long necked dragon, but not a short necked human.
Imagine trying to balance a human laid flat out on your finger like a seesaw. The "middle" point where the human balances is about where the wings would need to go, unless you designed lighter legs, then they could be placed a tad bit higher.

Like right now, I'm getting into cyborg mechanics and how they'd work with the muscle structure/nervous system of the human body. It's quite fascinating.
