It now had her form, and with it came the destruction that would soon swallow everyone in darkness. It began to consume souls and chaos broke loose. Even Princess Celestia did not have an answer to bring the Shadow Demon to its knees. Twilight Spark felt powerless to help her friend...Just kind of expanding on a concept idea that grew from my previous image. haha

wow I really like that dark thing that comes out of her body. she looks super cool and scary like that. you did her pose and her face very well. the pose is really really well done. I also like the mane and tail and the way you did the wings. the colors and shadows are awesome. great pic!

Nopony wants to believe the rumours, the fears whispered in the dark corners of taverns. We all hoped that they were just hoaxes, that everything was all right. We were wrong. Sweet Celestia, we were wrong.
Dark shadows slowly fell across the Rainbow Works. Everypony who worked or had worked there slowly realized a calling, an urging breeze at the back of their minds: Darkness must rise. Shadows must fall. Though many tried to resist, It was patient. It was eternal. It would triumph where other enemies of ponykind had failed, because It knew what truly lay in the hearts of mortals: Itself.
The workers at the Rainbow Works were willful, but even they could not resist the creeping insanity draped upon them in the deep hours of the night. The ones who lasted longest were held in high regard by It, but were nevertheless broken in turn to the same will. Return to the Rainbow Works. Spread It's will across Equestria. It is coming. Prepare for It.
The ones who broke first traveled without thinking, back to Cloudsdale, back to the forsaken and abandoned Rainbow Factories. At first, it was secret, though tales occasionally rose that it was haunted: odd noises in the night, sounds of machinery long ago removed from the premises.
One day, though, when a large portion of It's slaves had returned, the Rainbow Works drastically transformed; once the majestic epitome of pegasi architecture, it had been corrupted into a monstrosity of writhing tendrils and spikes of shadow, interlaced with the writhing forms of It's helpless victims.
It was not satisfied, however. It still needed one more tool, the catalyst for It's conquest. And so it reached. Almost intangible tendrils of shadow crept across the night sky, to the home of a particular rainbow-maned pony. Many of It's victims were taken with subtlety, with the utmost care for secrecy. Tonight, however, It came in full force upon the mind of Rainbow Dash. She stood no chance.
When she woke, Rainbow Dash was no longer an cocky, brave, and loyal pegasus. It had merged with her, consumed her, destroyed all that she was, and all that she could have been. She became the avatar of the Darkness.

This is where you come in. You are a member of the Nightwardens, a secret task force created by Princess Luna to aid her against enemies of ponykind such as this. You and a team of the finest ponies unknown to Equestria are sent to perform a pinpoint strike against what the Princesses believe to be It's heart, deep within the newly dubbed Shadow Works. It is hoped that your team can aid each other against the darkness that seeps out of the very walls -- if they can be called walls anymore.
You hope you move secretly, though the whispers laugh at your attempts at stealth. Where is there to hide, they say, when the shadows themselves are your enemy? You persevere nonetheless. This evil mist be stopped. suddenly, ahead of you, a wall tears itself asunder, revealing what you believe to be the Heart of the Darkness. You hope the explosives will work.
As you circle around it, though, your squadmates begin to go silent, one by one, until it is just you and a single unicorn left. A noise brings your head upwards.
The last thing you see is a darkened flash of rainbow and blue before you see oblivion.

Or so you think. The unicorn - what was his name? - had just enough time to teleport you away before he was struck down. Unfortunately, he - Ohilevoe, you remember now - wasn't very accurate, and you were now in the bowels of the Shadow Works, where even the corruption has not completely covered what is left of the old factory.
All you have on you is a sword and a torch - and the detonator for the explosive charges on the Heart of Darkness! However, it has a limited range - you must return to the chamber it resides in to activate them.
You look at your sword. You look up to the perceived heart of the Shadow Works.
It's time to go to work.
