Interesting discussion. I have had some comments on my work saying: why didn't you just paint it? Why is it a photograph? But I think there's always something photographic about it, some detail that shows that it's a photograph. Eventhough it may be just a minor detail (which makes it all the more fun). I am sure you have thought about it also. Good "photo", by the way

this is actually one of the best comments i have ever received. you've confirmed the completion of a project ive been working on for ages. to photograph a wall and have people totally accept it as a real life (mixed media) painting, or at least partially mistake it for something created by paint on a canvas.

christ no. its a plain old photo of a plain old wall. meant to look like / resemble a mixed media painting (most of my photos are meant to do exactly that).

plus - even if its just meant to resemble something - the realistic way you pulled it off is gorgeous and the colours are amazing.
