Description
Appearing first in the Colonies of the Line, and later in the Free Colonies closest to the Terminus Line, these mysterious assassins strike with little rhyme or reason except to cause chaos and despair. From civic-minded leaders who genuinely care for the people's welfare, to heroes who save lives without asking anything in return, to even the owners of successful orphanages or soup kitchens...all have ended up in the sights of these killers. No one has ever seen what is under the armor they wear. While they appear to be cybernetic no one is sure. It is assumed they move between worlds in non-descript craft and in disguise, lending many to believe they are human.
What is known is they are assassins of extreme skill, able to defeat most security systems and having made head shots in bad weather from three miles away in high wind. Like ninjas of legend, they strike and then they are simply gone without a trace.
As frightening as their skill, however, is their intent. Many leaders are concerned that they are the vanguard of some alien offensive. If so, what kind of war is about to be waged where the enemy targets and murders even the smallest glimmer of hope and goodwill?

Excerpt from the Journal of Zan Holindai, Nix Lord Magus:
"The Assassin... intent upon killing off those who only sought to help save lives and protect those who could not protect themselves from the Manmokers that had invaded Ophelia... Sickening, he was. It was Emerald, Toni and I who happened upon this... creature...
Clad in his strange armor and wielding a powerful weapon. While we hid, we heard him make reference to our teammate, the Empath, Ariel, in that the Manmokers had to capture her, and he had to kill her, as she knew a name. She had heard it... Little did I know then, what he was talking about...
The Assassin possessed no energy to him, as though he were not even alive in the sense that we could understand it. It wasn't until his head lay splattered upon the roof that I understood better... What resided within that armor was more machine and necrotic flesh than anything that could be constituted as 'alive'...
I understand, now, that this Assassin was an agent of something darker, more ancient and evil, than anything we may be prepared to face now... but he knew... knew things he should not have... If my theories are accurate... Well... I hope I am wrong, honestly."

You know, last time something went up on a Monday, we met it. You might be lucky you're a few states away now and GMing. Just saying.
