Description
I've found this old sketch and decided to share with you. This is how Reginald Foxwarder's (my WWII character) Spitfire is supposed to look like. Well, here it's pretty unproportional, but still...
VC squadron isn't real as far as I'm concerned. I just picked the combination of letters which isn't related to any of WWII RAF Squadrons.
Reginald didn't name his plane Glorious Fox himself, he isn't that selfish c: It's the long and complicated story.
The Spitfire is Mk IX
Art (and the Spit's nose art, too) by me.

Thanks a lot!
Maybe I'll draw this plane normally one day as well (I mean not in a sketchy way).

Thank you!
Wow, that's awesome! And even more than awesome! One of my dreams is to see a Spitfire close and personal, and sitting in one's cockpit would make my entire life!

It was amazing. I've been in a B17 and flown in a stearmen too.

It looks awesome, your definitely a lot better at drawing planes than I am. But yeah, awesome amount of detail, good angle and perspective, and great job with personalized stuff like the symbols and the custom name.
Also I wouldn't mind hearing the story of the plane's name, it would probably be interesting.
I think one of the best planes I've ever drawn in Flash is this one: sta.sh/0ognun5x17l though it falls apart in a hurry if I try to angle it anything other than side or straight on front view.
Anyway, great job Illusir! This looks fantastic.

Thank you very much!
Planes are pretty hard to draw (as well as other vehicles), because proportions should be followed nicely. And that's why I often use references. If you want to master drawing vehicles, I'd suggest you to look at several pictures (honestly though, I'm not a master at all )
The story in a nutshell: this plane here is actually Reginald's 3rd plane (from planes which he used during WWII). His second one was "given" to him by a school he often supported before the War. Kids called it "Glorious Fox". Unfortunately this plane crashed, and Reginald named his new plane in the same way, in memory of his "gift" (a lot of pilots told him it's dangerous to give the plane this name, because of superstitions, but he still did what he wanted; and he actually successfully survived the War with this plane).

Of course, no problem.
Yeah true, I'd say though with vehicles that one of the few things I insist on trying to make original versions of, so my designs always look a bit odd because of that. I'm hoping it will help my work stand out though, time will tell if I'm right.
Ah ok, that's interesting. Though I'm kinda wondering what kinda plane the school gave him, as I'm guessing it probably wasn't a Spitfire right?
Anyway, thanks for sharing, and great job on this!

Well, they didn't give him an actual plane, the school collected money for plane's production. The plane was Spitfire as well, but I guess it was Mk I or Mk V, not Mk IX.

Hmm, interesting. It must have been a larger more institutionalized school; I was thinking of something smaller scale which is why I was confused.
Anyway, thanks for sharing the full story!
See you next time.
