Description
Part 30 - final (Part 29 , Part 1 )
And it’s done! Wow! Despite all troubles, difficulties and suffering and all days when I just wanted to throw it out of the window and never think of it again - I did it! Yay! Incredible! (well it is for me). Right, so I hope you enjoyed it and I hope that everyone who started to follow me because of this comics won’t leave at once now lol. (well if not staying for other ML fanart then - I think I can say it now - I plan another comics (yeah I never learn my lesson do I? lol), but need a pause (also hope something similar wouldn’t be in the new season, because I don’t think I could do it then. Though I don’t know if I’d get a chance to find out what is in new season, heh. Anyway.). That’s it then, finished )
(It is a reveal story that I had in my head since about November (last year - 2016). It is my first ever try to make a comic so I guess there gonna be some offence against comic rules here and there (also my poor editing skills), still I hope someone will like it and enjoy as I am when drawing it.
It is my version of possible reveal story and though I haven’t actually read any (fanfiction nor comic or so) I guess there’s lots of them around so I guess it’s possible there might be some similarities, but if so, it wasn’t intentional, right?)
Still - Please don’t repost, edit or use anyhow, I’m putting lots of effort into it and I want to decide myself where and how would I present it. Thank you.

A beautiful end!
So, to sum up the comic:
- I took a quick look at first pages and it's clearly visible that you made quite a lot of progress drawing people! Great job!
- As I already said: you are the master of expressions! The poses and faces showed characters' emotions really well! I think you have a great intuition about this.
- I love your storytelling: I felt like I was reading a professional comic, everything was well-paced and the panels were just as they should be.
- I can't tell anything about the original, but I could see characters' personalities clearly. I could get to know them just from this comic.
And many congratulations for finishing it! It was like 150 drawings? 30 pages, most of them consisting of 5 panels, I guess? That's a LOT of effort and you really paid a lot of attention to each panel. I hope you're proud of yourself because you should be

Thank you very much for your wonderful comment full of compliments! I admit I'm crying from happiness now
I mean - progress with drawing people, good storytelling and even "master of expressions"! I'm not sure if all this belongs to me by right, but it makes me so happy that you think so and that you wrote it to me here
Some pages at the beginning had up to eight pictures, I cut it to less only later in attempt to finish pages faster . I guess final average would be four. But yes, lots of drawings at the end (I better didn't count them lol) and yes it was TONS of effort and hard work and suffering and I bet taking pictures only with my digital camera and not ideal editing skills of mine (though I believe I did some progress here as well) (and though you say here that you think it shows I paid attention to each panel) made it look like I didn't work very hard on it sometimes (if it didn't look like that every time).
But yes, I'm really proud of myself for this - for doing it, that I didn't give up though it seemed really desperate during beginning and then during the summer; many times I wanted to throw it out of the window and never think of it again, but I didn't at the end and when I actually finished it then it was an amazing feeling because it was one little yes so big victory over row of bigger or smaller troubles and over myself too!
So yes, I'm really proud of myself for finishing it .
And I'm very happy to get so many wonderful comments during the whole comic from you, it was wonderful support, and then thank you especially for this one of course. Thank you very much once again!

Still, 30 pages with 4 panels each make 120 pictures - and it's all in just one year! And each one is coloured. That's really something!
"made it look like I didn't work very hard on it sometimes"
I sometimes also feel this way: I put a lot of effort in a picture and in my eyes it still looks worse than some dA drawings drawn in just 5 minutes... But honestly, as someone who draws people and uses coloured pencils, I know how much work it takes. And I don't think any artist would say that you didn't try.
Yeah, it's a great feeling when you achieve your goal And the more troubles and hard work it takes, the greater the victory
Congratulations once again!

Hmm, you're right, someone who uses coloured pencils and draw people must know it's not quite easy, but like you said I see all the time lots of other pictures drawn maybe faster (like those with comments like "this is just a quick sketch I made for fun" or something like that while it looks better than things that I spend hours and hours working on) and looking much better and with lots of excited comments and even though I know I shouldn't compare my works to other people's it's really hard to do so (or not to do so) and mostly I still compare. A lot. *sigh*

I totally understand you. I even found some memes about it:
i.imgflip.com/18esw9.jpg
s2.quickmeme.com/img/eb/eb7c6d…
BUT comparing yourself to them is simply pointless. Unless that motivates you, but in my case competition is not motivating at all.
You can see the picture but you don't see what's 'behind' that picture. I mean, maybe that person attended some art school? Or their parents are artists, too, and could help them? Or maybe they're just students who have a lot of time to just sit around and draw as they don't need to worry about earning money, shopping and preparing meals? Or they just started drawing much earlier than you? For example I only started drawing when I was 22 years old and there are hundreds of 15-16-year-olds here on dA who are much better than me.
So the situation is just incomparable. You are never in the same situation as the other person. I know it's hard to accept that it takes another months (or years) until I get to that level... but I'm not giving up.
The only person you should compare to is yourself a month ago, a year ago. This is the only person you should be better than.
Another thing: even if their technique is better, you may make your drawings unique, just in your own style. For example, you are good at storytelling - so even if your drawings are not perfect in terms of technique, I can still enjoy the story, the characters and so on. I watch a girl in dA who draws magnificent realistic portraits, the technique is stupendous... but most of her drawings is just copying the photographs. Her drawings don't tell any story - and even if they do, it's just the story that's already in the photographs.
So I can enjoy her drawings - and I can also enjoy your comics because I like stories. This is something what you have and she doesn't. If you find something you're good at and that you like - you can stand out even if you're not perfect.
My most favourited deviation is the one I added during my first year on dA. It was imperfect in many ways - but it was funny. People still favourited it because it made them smile.
Art can give value in many ways. Sometimes it's just a matter of aesthetics, sometimes it makes laugh, sometimes it tells a story, it makes you think, it inspires you... So sometimes you don't need to be the best!

I know what you mean and you're right with different background of everyone's skills but what I meant was rather comparing to the amount of reaction to my works and other people's works. And many times it seems to me that my picture (or crochet piece or fanfiction or whatever) is at least as good as someone else's (if not even better sometimes) but mine got just few notes (if any) maybe some favourite and rarely a comment (or reblog on tumblr). I know that it doesn't necessarily mean that it wouldn't be good or that people didn't like it at all, but objectively seen it looks so - few or any notes - it's probably not that good as someone else's. I mean when people can write a comment to theirs work why not to mine? Well, perhaps it's no good then and they didn't like it right? And if both works/pictures/whatever are shown on the same place, in the same group etc., it's probably not that people wouldn't see my piece while the other piece they did. If you know what I mean.
I know I don't do that for money and my living doesn't depend on attention my works get and first of all I do it for myself because I want to do it and enjoy it, but when I finish something and think it looks good, I want to share it and when almost none reaction comes then, it disappoints me and sometimes spoils my excitement from finishing something nice. I do it for myself in the first place yes, but if it was enough just to be happy about it for myself then I wouldn't bother posting it and if I share I want to know if they like it and when I get mostly just few notes (if any) the logical conclusion is that people don't like it. *sigh*
Maybe I'm just too hard to please and should be glad for having my five notes and one reblog on tumblr and few favourites with rarely some comment here and perhaps should be glad that I'm not that famous and admired to have to deal with art theft (that seems to be very common in Miraculous Ladybug fandom especially), but... you know... it's nice to know that someone thinks that you did well with something...
(but you're someone who comments a lot on my works and I appreciate it a lot, so thank you very much again for being such a great support here! )

Oh, yeah, reactions... Every year I seem to be getting less. In my first year, some of my deviations got 20-40 favs, in last years only a few deviations got barely over 10. I've got a few theories: it may be because some of the groups I was in got less active. Or that people rather comment on deviations made by a certain person they watch (I usually try to comment on pictures of my 'watchees' but I don't always have time to get through group deviations). Or that they found my artworks 'okay' but just didn't bother to write anything.
But actually I'm glad that there are a few people who comment on my artworks - like you (many thanks!) These are usually meaningful comments and help me improve.
And yeah, I almost lost hope to ever be a popular deviant... So I really appreciate every comment and fav. Oh well, somehow we'll get over it and become super popular

I always try to add comment when I like the picture though most of the time is just "Lovely picture" or something like that, but I think it's still better to write it than just think of it. (though I admit when someone already has many comments I sometimes don't add my own). But I guess people just don't have always the time to write a comment to every picture they like even if it was just "Lovely!" and we just happen to be among those who got skipped
I try to comment on new pics of my "watchees" (nice word! ) too even if it's some fandom or just something I don't know. And in that cases I usually try to think out something else than just "lovely", even if I don't know right away how to express myself (so it sometimes take some time
).
Sure, one day people won't regret bit of time to write nice comments to our works!

I'm sorry for being late with reply. Yeah, I also don't comment if someone has a lot of comments and I don't have anything important to add. I prefer to comment on drawings that don't have comments, I think it's more important.
Yeah, we'll make it somehow I wonder if we can do anything about it, apart from adding to the groups. If I come up with anything, I'll let you know

ilwin In reply to lichotka [2018-01-09 15:22:25 +0000 UTC]
Quite, I know how it is when you get no comments so I comment especially on the pictures with no comments (or comments like "I love Ladybug too", these are kind of annoying. Not that I was getting comments like these very much (but I did few times), but I see them very often. Well maybe some people don't mind it and maybe don't actually care about notes about their work, but it's kinda... useless comment - like - of course you like Ladybug too that's why you watch the group and saw the fanart hey? %) (well I mentioned Ladybug here but I saw it in other fandoms too of course))
I don't know how people do that, telling "please comment" or "comments are very welcome" doesn't help obviously. (I added to last few of my pictures lol)

lichotka In reply to ilwin [2018-01-09 16:44:48 +0000 UTC]
I agree - these are compliments on the show, not the drawing itself. I sometimes write something similar BUT I always add something about the picture I don't know about other people but I'm here to improve and any comment about what I did wrong or right is appreciated. Even if it's something like 'I like the colours', it's something I can use to get better.
It may be that people just don't look at the description and barely look at the picture. But I remembered something - there are some groups that focus on giving feedback. You add a picture to that group and you need to comment on other people's artworks but you get comments as well. Like this group: projectcomment.deviantart.com/
So if you want constructive comments, it may be a good place to go
But I understand that it's not 'spontaneous' commenting, so it's not the same as when you get comments from people who just liked your drawings. But you may get constructive feedback (and maybe get to know some people) and that may help you improve

ilwin In reply to lichotka [2018-01-09 17:28:48 +0000 UTC]
Actually I never thought of showing my drawings (or crochet) here (or elsewhere online) as doing it in hope for improvement. I mean it happens when someone like you writes comments that actually says something and I like to hear what I did right or what I did wrong (though I usually know very well everything that I did wrong plus some things that other people don't see as a wrong or don't see at all) and so it helps (i.e. I think the way I do shading in some ways improved thanks to one comment you did at one of my pictures), but I don't think about it like that - like "here's the picture what could I do better next time to be closer to perfect". I just want to show it to others and hope they might like it too and I mostly draw (or crochet) fanart things so I want to show it to people who are mostly fans too.
Does it sound too shallow? I don't know maybe I am. On the other hand if everyone puts all my works in favourites and reblogs them on tumblr and comments would be only - I like this! It wouldn't be enough. I want to hear if the characters look like the characters, if the face expression is just about fine, if it looks at least a bit 3D etc. so... basically that's need to improve as well? I just never thought of it like - I want to improve my drawing so I'll post it here and see what people would say to it.
That comment group sounds interesting but like you said it would be bit forced and like I said above - I draw (or crochet) mostly fanart and I want it to be seen by fans who know what they're looking at.

lichotka In reply to ilwin [2018-01-10 10:01:30 +0000 UTC]
I understand And there's nothing bad about wanting the others to appreciate your drawings.
I started my dA account at the very beginning of my drawing progress. It was a kind of motivation for me - if I get feedback, it's much easier to keep on drawing. If I was drawing only for myself, I'd quickly give it up. But I also like to get feedback. And feedback means 'what I did wrong?', but also 'what I did right?'. If I know I got something right, I also know that I can keep on with this. So I like the comments that don't only say 'I like it' but also add 'I like this, this and this about the drawing'.
Oh, yeah, fanart... I sometimes comment on fanarts of the fandoms I don't know, but I admit I prefer to comment when I actually know the fandom. And I think it may be a bit difficult to get noticed in a group where everyone draws Ladybug and Chat Noir. It's more difficult to stand out.

Well, I admit that it doesn't look like my usual fandom, but I must confess that I like Ladybug (You're not the only one surprised ). It reminds me of Sailor Moon. I even made a few simple crochet broochs last year, but I forgot to upload them to DA. (merigurumi.files.wordpress.com… )
That's why I liked your story so much, because I know the characters and I know you've done them very well, even in their way of being.

Awww, another ML fan then (or just liker (well that's probably not a real word, whatever))! Yeah it reminds me of Sailor Moon as well! (and Sailor Moon is my old love - well the anime from 90's, I don't know manga (well I bought first book few years ago in Dublin) and I didn't like the reboot. Anyway).
It surprised me the more because I don't remember you'd ever commented on any other ML fanart of mine - nor drawings or the crochet ones - but maybe I just don't remember?
Awww, the broochs are so lovely! Great!
So thank you once again! <3

I didn't comment on any of your previous ML works before, although I like them a lot, especially your amigurumis. My mood is very low and I don't feel like commenting.
