I think this is going really well! Β I hope you leave in some greys just because I think it looks nice with all the pink. Β I noticed all the comments about trying to make her look hurt or surrounded by dark colors and those are all fine suggestions but I like what's happening here as is. Β The eyes say it all for me. Β She looks like she doesn't want to talk to anyone. Β That can be exhausting when a person is depressed. Β Typically a depressed person puts on a bit of a show to make everything seem ok and so everything in this picture being pleasant to see is exactly what the girl here would want people to see around her. Β But if you look into her eyes, you can clearly see how she feels on the inside. Β I hope you don't change the title. <3Β

your style is very elegant and the palette is so smooth ! I really like it ! But in totally subjective way I dont see the depression feeling. Maybe if you color the flowers behind her with grey-blue dark colors (#313437) it can be relevant of depression. Or maybe doing withered flowers.
But just like that, it's already very pretty.

It was originally about depression but it changed a lot, maybe now she's through depression and it's a fresh look.

She has that sort of facial expression were you wanna just ask her: "Are you okay?"...
The plant could have some thorns piercing her skin... causing her pain.
Depression can be very painful so...
That could be "symbolizing" the Depression!

I'm not really qualified to critique, but I think it's gorgeous, even unfinished. I really love her lips especially, and her eyes are already very expressive.
I also love the color palette you're using. It's warm -- not what you'd expect from a piece that seems so solemn. I look forward to seeing the finished piece.
