- Born to a place far north, treated to a more temperate climate but a place deep in political unrest no matter how well organized the populace seemed from the outside, Luzhan's upbringing was rife with betrayal between monarchs and families, never privy a dull moment in everyone's unnecessary battle to survive better than their neighbors.

- From the very beginning Luzhan understood the currency of blackmail and threats, that a card revealed was never a hollow danger, that there would always be someone willing to capitalize on your weaknesses or secrets, that there would always be someone to orchestrate a mob with you as the target of easily fabricated prejudice. The embittered feeling was only reinforced when some carelessly exposed loose thread of their family's was preyed upon by that corruption, a brutally plotted demise that somehow only Luzhan escaped.

- Still Luzhan clung to some hope in their dreary existence, and rumors carried over the desert on the same wind they let fly their family's ashes. Rumors of a place bathed in a miraculous sense of peace. It drove their tired steps across the sand thousands of miles, and somewhere along their journey in the thin line between hope and desperation, thirsting for some silver lining to the devastation that was all too familiar, Luzhan exchanged their mortality for the chance to reach that fabled place that only fate could carry someone to.

- Despite the beauty and peace thriving in the oasis, there is bound to be secrets lurking in the shadows, vulnerable to prying eyes and in need of keeping. Luzhan is in the very business of keeping it that way, keeping the peace, keeping your secrets, and keeping the city guard on their toes! They may have been met with a wash of disillusionment upon finally reaching the city, bustling with life and all of the ruthless, paranoid, animalistic survival those living in the old kingdom had been cursed with. It was almost laughable.

- Truly laughable. For the first time that familiar struggle brought a smile to them, absurd as it was. Despite the grand enormity and mythicality of their destination, the lifeblood of it was that ever present human selfishness and Luzhan wasn't about to suffer another moment of it. They would enjoy it until their very end. They decided no one had the authority to decide whose secrets and weaknesses were dragged into the light for judgement and appraisal. With the feeling of their family's undoing looming too clearly in their memory, Luzhan vowed to keep secrets for others in need, but have fun doing it. It was a game to them now. They would be a willing courier, a private messenger for a price, no questions asked. At least they would until the fates finally changed their mind and cut Luzhan's luck short.

- After all, no matter how well intentioned, an oath is a bit of a gamble every time. All one can do is try to be true to their word.

- Doesn't have anything against authority figures per se, in fact the better they are at enforcing rules the more reason people have to hire someone to fly under the radar. The guards excelling at their jobs is like free advertising for Luzhan~
- Won't necessarily try and bite you, but a contract is made with a small offer of blood. If business is good there's no reason for Luzhan to find themselves starving and reckless, but every vampire needs to feed on something.
