Description Hi again, i started to work more on the hair, all of it will need more edits as i go along. I also started to build up the skin tones, the reference photo is very light in some areas and dark in others, this is where the computer comes in handy. I adjust the tones in psp, if lets say i'm working on her hair i will bring the brightness way up to see all the details hidden in the shadows....for the skin tones i bring the brightness way down to better see the varying tones.

I'm still working slow, the wrist is feeling better, but tends to hurts after drawing for to long. I am also planning what to draw next, I have a few unfinished pieces but I may still choose something new?? ~Linda

Always amazes me how steril is your drawing board. How do you do this? Mine is always smeard and dirty when I'm drawing.

I'm guessing you're right handed? XD

Also, how do you clean the 'stumps'?

I'm curious if that blending stick looking thing on the left of the board an actual blending stick that has the tips blackned and rounded from extended use? Or is that some special charcoal stick?

The blending sticks (stumps) have been used and the black is from blending graphite. They come looking like that but all white and clean.

oh wow, you're amazing. Are you an art-teacher? You really gave me new inspiration. When I get paid I'm buying new pencils and good quality paper.

do you use the kneaded eraser to lighten areas that you might have made too dark by accident? lol I bet you dont make mistakes eh?

imaginee In reply to reddelicious [2005-03-29 04:57:40 +0000 UTC]

I make my share of mistakes....and yes i only use a kneaded eraser, i dab or rub depending on if i want to lighten or remove.

This is fantastic......this is too good to be a srap art piece.
It's two composition in one. The drawing is a art piece in and of it self and the drawing desk is one too.
You arranged everything perfect!
I'm impressed.
Oh and totally Fave

I'm not a big Liv Tyler fan but the talent that lies in this render itself can't be ignored.

I decided to favourite this over the actual piece just 'cause I think it's neat ... the way you've set everything up -- the shot is a work of art in itself. It's interesting. : )

on the right hand side of the board, are those the squishy eraser things? if so, where did u get them?

Hi, one is a kneaded eraser and the other a piece of poster tack. I got the kneaded eraser from an art supply store (Michaels) and the blue tack i can't remember where I got it from, might of been an office supply store. If you draw in pencil a kneaded eraser is a must have. ~Linda

Your drawing is inspiring...

I'm also curious about the mechanical pencil you are using, because it seems nice and pleasant to use...
What is the name of the pencil?

I don't think it's an artist mechanical pencil. It's called "triple CLICK" by Avery. I bought it at Wal-Mart a few years ago, it has a pen, pencil lead, and stylus (for a pda). I picked up a pack of 0.5mm HB refills and i'm all set to go. I only started using the mech pencil last month, don't know how i got by all these years without one!!
