I genuinely like this! I got impressed by the pose and the colors! The character looks so pretty,Β I also like her outfit. I don't know who Sophie is, but she looks cute and innocentΒ in your style! I like her expression, and so the anatomy. Although I found kind of weird the way she is grabbing her dress. (I just searched for who Sophie is, she looks completely different and fancy in your style.) I like your pallete, looks lovely! I don't know about this anime (Howl's Moving Castle), I think I heard about it once, not sure. I just never took time to watch it. I like your background, coloring and lineart. One of my favorite art styles are those looking kind of like this (I'm honest). Good job placing the shadows and light! The way you draw hands looks perfect, but you can improve on that : ). I will just end saying that this is such an adorable fanart, it looks so to be just a "try" to draw a character. Keep on drawing and I hope this comment be appreciated from you! I just said all what I thought about your drawing, hope you keep making drawings like this one in the future~!

Hey thanks for the review! It was really nice to read what you thought of the simplicity of my drawing. I do also agree with hand cut off thingy, it does look a little off going looking over it again so I'll keep that in mind if I ever feel like redrawing this in the future ^^!

Hiya from ProjectComment !
Okay, this is aggressively cute. Way too cute. Making-me-smile-like-an-idiot-rn-cute. Maybe I'm just a sucker for Howl's Moving Castle, but AAHHHHH this is SO GOOD!
Your linework is so crisp and clean, even but still weighted to give depth to the outlines and overall shapes; I especially like the strokes on the hem of her skirt and the folds! You also do a fantastic job of color handling and employing a minimalistic, but effective shading style - the palette has a pastel-y feel but still very true to Sophie's theme. Your highlights aren't too obtrusive, but give the overall figure a nice little shine, and by picking good complimentary colors instead of just unsaturated lighter hues, it helps keep the tone of the piece all together! I also especially like the mixed use of flat and textured brushes for the shaded regions; the little touch of texture on her bow, and the highlights on her sleeves give a really nice sense of the cloth feel.Β
While I think that the warm/cool tone mixture works very well overall, and especially so on her eyes (AHHHH TOO CUTE) I think that the lowlights on her dress and shoes could be a bit more pronounced. Maybe swing them a bit bluer so they pop outΒ more? The more subtle lowlights on her hair and skin work well because of how light the base/contrast colors are, but I think the more saturated regions could use a bit more oomph on the shadows.
Lastly, the really simple background helps the character pop sooo well! Great job picking complementary colors for the warm, outdoorsy feel that don't clash with Sophie's palette, but still keep a sense of unity to the piece overall.
Love your work!!!
