A New Yoshi OC has joined my army of Mario OCs! Meet Ardalux, despite his look and abilities, Ardalux is not related to dragons!

Dislikes: He has a little fear of Toads, particularly the one who is responsible for his family's death (However he knows not all of them are bad, he has a Toad friend!), small spaces (Reminds him of the jail cell he was trapped in in his younger years), laboratories, bad people in general.

Personality

Ardalux is considered as a kind, gentle Yoshi who seeks to protect the weaks, like a hero! He is also very courageous and is not afraid to jump into action to save a life, even if it means dying. He always likes all of the attention he gets from people greeting him for saving them, it makes him happy! He also likes to act charming towards the ladies, and most of them showed to fall for his charm. He doesn't do it to find love, however, it's just in his nature to make the ladies happy! Although, when it comes to asking a girl out, THEN he gets very shy and stutters a lot, closing his wings on himself out of shyness. He may be charming, but the charmer is a shy one when it comes to asking for a date!
When not saving people, he usually stays quiet in his corner or enjoys walking around towns or flying in the mountains to practice his flying skills. He also secretly practices his aim and battle skills on rocks deep in caves. He has a lot of patiente and even if it takes days for him to master a new skill, he never gives up on it until it happens. He can be a little serious during training sessions and doesn't like to get disturbed or stopped during these times.
When actual fights are going on, he can get very aggressive, turning his focus on one foe and using his strength to win the fight. Ardalux doesn't use his powers unless the enemy is far too strong. He also tends to usually growl and bite quite a lot too, and believe it, his bites hurt like heck. When things are going wrong and he knows he can't win a fight, he flees and hide and tries to think of another way to defeat them. If nothing can be done, he gives up, but tries to still save the people if they are threatened.
Ardalux is also attentive to sounds and his surroundings, and when he spends time alone, he usually just listens to what's around him. He also can be a little goofy, acting silly and playful just to see a smile on his friends' faces. And when parties are going on, he can't help but join them, dancing to the music and enjoys singing to the people at the parties! If you play jazz music, he'll dance non-stop, because he loves that type of music!

However, even if he feels happy, some nights he thinks of his family. He misses them, after all...

Story

Ardalux was born in a normal Yoshi village in the mountains. He was the oldest child of the 4, and had a father and mother. Ardalux would do normal Yoshi things and used to be very playful and curious. His mother was a red Yoshi, while his father was a black Yoshi. His siblings all had different color patterns like spots or stripes, but he had a special pattern. "Pants", as he likes to call it. He was also the most courageous and fearless! After all, he is their big brother! Ah yes, his childhood used to be like fairy tales! But unfortunately, not all of it was butterflies and fruits. When he was 8, Ardalux was tasked to get fruits to eat while his family was busy for something else. As he was away from his home, disaster struck. A horde of Shy Guys and Koopas appeared out of the woods opposite to Ardalux, and their leader, a somewhat tall Road with glasses and black head spots, came by the house. The Yoshi's first thought they were here to ask questions, but alas, no. The Toad was not there for it. And in a snap of fingers, the minions attacked. Taking everything in the house, and even getting rid of Ardalux's family. He did heard the screams of his siblings and mother, and as he ran back to his house, all he saw was horror. Lifeless bodies... Ardalux couldn't think straight, and in a fit of rage, attacked the Toad, but was quickly stopped. The Toad liked Ardalux's courage, and decided to spare him in condition he works for him. Ardalux refused at first, but after being threatened with a knife, he accepted. Since then, Ardalux spent over 16 years working for the Toad's will, and became one of his fiercest warrior. And one day, he and others of his group were tasked to destroy a laboratory nearby.
Ardalux was hesitant knowing the dangers there could be, but he didn't wanted to die because he didn't wanted to go, so he went and followed his group. The raid was simple. Enter the lab, kill everyone and then take everything that seems good enough for use. As Ardalux and his group were doing the job, things got sour and bad very quickly. Ardalux couldn't react fast enough, and in the blink of an eye, a massive explosion occured, blowing up the entire laboratory and kill most of the people inside of it. Ardalux and some other survived, but they were badly wounded. The air turned strange, and a weird liquid could be seen flowing down Ardalux's body and other comrades. What was contained here? Ardalux didn't know, and ended up passing out due to the wounds and air. Some days later, Ardalux woke up, completely forgetting about the accident until he took a look around him. He felt strange, and as he looked himself in a mirror, he jumped. He changed! Whatever the laboratory was doing, whatever was flowing down his body must have changed his body cells! He tried looking for his camp, but nothing, they all left. This meant Ardalux was free from this Toad, all because of an explosion! Ardalux shook his head and left, starting a new life that would hopefully bring him a better future.

Abilities and Skills

Intelligence: Ardalux is fairly decently intelligent and understands people's feelings. He can learn new tricks pretty fast and can come up with some ways to defeat enemies if they show any weaknesses. He always "analyze" the person first and the more they spend time together or fighting, the more he understands them and finds new things or weaknesses about them. Ardalux also understands if someone is bringing him to a trap and is not dumb enough to fall for it, unless he shared a close bond with a "friend" that betrays him.

Raw Strength: Ardalux is actually pretty strong even without using his powers. By all his training he did alone for years and enslaved, he became one of the best warriors of the Toad's army, that is until the accident. Now, he uses this strength to his advantage to protect people. He can hold a large boulder with his bare hands until it's safe enough to destroy it. However despite his strength, Ardalux is not able to punch through hard steel, but can damage it still. Although he's not the strongest guy around, his raw strength is sometimes not enough to take down massive enemies, which forces him to make the use of his abilities.
Fire Breath: Blue fire is one of the powers that Ardalux gained upon being affected by the radioactivity and liquid that fell on his body. This blue fire is much hotter than a normal fire, and can melt most things, sometimes being too intense for enemies to handle and getting burnt to their bones. But! Ardalux's fire's hotness is controlled by how angry he is. The more angry, the hottest the fire gets, the less angry, the more cold the fire gets. If sad, his fire's brightness fades and is cold. If both sad and angry, his fire is the brightest flame, but also the coldest. He can also summon his fire for powerful fire punches, headbutts, kicks, tail swipes and fire wings!

Acid Spit: Ardalux' second power gained during the accident. It is his least used ability due to how destructive it is. The acid spit is only used under certain or extreme circumstances, or if Ardalux has trouble during a fight. This acid is not like your usual green acid. This blue acid not only melts pretty much anything, but the toxin it leaves in the air can be fatal to life around if the acid Ardalux spat out was big enough to create a toxic cloud. However the toxic air usually stays around a day or two before vanishing into thin air. If used on furnitures or other things, many things can happen: Anything solid melts, food spoils in seconds, any oil bursts into flames or explodes depending on how strong it is. On the ground, the acid causes the affected area to die or melt. On water, the acid does absolutely nothing but transform into a sticky substance, as a hint that only water can resist the power of Ardalux's acid.
This acid can be collected in water bottles to create antidotes against the toxic air for the people or animals that got affected.

Dive Bomb: Only used in fights, the Dive Bomb is an ability that requires a lot of strength, energy and speed to achieve, as drawn on the reference. Ardalux flies up high into the air and dives down onto the enemy at high speed, covering his hands in fire, then uses his whole weight to his advantage by slamming onto the opponent or ground. This attack has two effects.
The first effect is, if Ardalux targets the enemy, they get set on fire for a short amount of time, alongside a lot of broken bones, probably death even.
Another affect is, if Ardalux slams onto the ground instead, the ground shakes and every cracks created by it has fire emmaning from them, while fire surrounds Ardalux. This attack is very destructive as the high speed and all of the forces combined causes a lot of damage to one area. (And a lot of pain to Ardalux's hands and feet lol)

High Flight Speed: Ardalux's body is built for speed, agility and strength. And since he can fly, he can reach up to 200km per hour with his dive, making him a fantastic travel mount if necessary. Flying enemies have a very hard time catching up to him as his turn rate can be very sharp as he has a lot of freedom to move his whole body around in seconds!

Fire Fury: (Drawn on the reference) Caused only under extreme stress, anger or the feel of protecting a loved one, Ardalux's fire fury is easily the most destructive of his abilities. His whole body fires up in blue fire, and his eyes get all fiery. Like a Phoenix, he can dash around one place, setting many things on fire at the same time. The heat is intense, even hotter than his usual fire breath, and projectiles usually tend to melt if they aren't fast enough to reach him. Ardalux can also release a burst of fire, in which the explosion can send people and houses flying, even setting on fire everything around. If one is crazy enough, prehaps would they be daredevil enough to try and face this devastating force of nature?
In this state, Ardalux does not listen to commands and has no control over his body. Once the fury is gone, Ardalux usually gets K.O'd because of how much energy he spent, and has no memories on what he did or happened when he wakes up.

Rebirth: Due to Ardalux having similar abilities to a Phoenix, he gained the ability to "rebirth" when he dies. After his death, his body covers on fire and vanishes into thin air, leaving only an egg and his footwears behind. This egg contains Ardalux and must be heated well to hatch. It may take a month or two for the egg to hatch, and once it does, Ardalux is born once again. He keeps the memories from his previous lives, and his personality at that, so it's like if Ardalux never left in the first place! However, this still does not make Ardalux immortal as his egg can still be crushed, ending the cycle. Or he cannot rebirth if his body was entirely vaporised.

Smooth Scales: Ardalux has smooth scales and fur, which are actually not preferable for defense. In fact, his scales are so smooth that anything sharp can cut through them, even paper! People that want to harm him can easily pierce through him with arrows or any weapons in general!
Fear of small spaces: Due to his past, Ardalux is afraid of going inside of small, contained spaces such as boxes, even photo machines alongside friends! He is afraid something happens just like his past and he gets stuck inside.

Ardalux's colors are based on real-life animals, particularly birds. He may look normal and dull in color when his wings are closed, but when he opens them, it's a paradise of colors! No wonder the girls like him so much!
Ardalux had 2 shades of reds on his wings, but I removed one since the darker red didn't fit the wing design.
Despite his appearance and abilities, Ardalux is NOT related to dragons whatsoever!
Ardalux's body is both half scales and half fur. The fur area are his hair, underbelly and wings (Which are feathers), while the scales take the rest of his body!
