I know I'm about 4 years late on this but I just stumbled across your art on my wanderings through the internet tonight and I just wanted to tell you how stunning this picture is in particular to me. It reminds me very much of my experience being a soldier in the US army which is how I discovered how essential and important my individuality was to me. Kind of a 'You don't know what you have until you give it up' thing. I am curious, what do you think of the mandatory military service requirement in Finland?

Hi!
When I had a show of my art in Eslingen Germany I meet this GI from US. He served in Iraq. Had to say bay bay to all my stereotypes about American solders. It was so cool that after the show he visited Finland on my birth day.
I have disgust to authority and these images come from that. I show my fears in the most beautiful way.
Hymm Finnish army.. I ques its a necessary evil as we have that long porder.

I really like the atmosphere. It's dark, hard. No-face idea- excellent. Great shadows. But one question- done in color , and edited in photoshop or something like this, or made in this cold shadows ? Sorry for bad English, I hope that you understand me xD

"Typicalness deprives of individuality in the sense that a typical personality first of all personifies some idea, some law, some function. In this case one cannot speak of the individual in the modern understanding of the word; secondary individual characteristics are washed away before the face of the structure, which can manifest virtually unchanged everywhere, where such perfection is achieved. The individual becomes "typical", in other words beyond-personal." – faulty translation of Julius Evola from Russian ("Ride the Tiger").

I'm afraid you are misrepresenting the situation again with the usage of the Nietzsche and NS Germany.
Germany was fighting for individuality on a National basis and brought war against the Soviet collectivism, and Democratic "equalitism," that was trying to undermine nations and race, Oh we are all equal and all that bs.
We aren't all equal. We are our race.
You throw up a Nietzsche quote and some austere and triste picture and expect us to fall all over ourselves in agreement.
Save it for the suckers.

I love you
I love when a neo-nazi sees a helmet that looks like german one and he satarts ranting of "race", national socialism and all that crab
See Nietzsche talk of groups and this work is of groups. Not of Germans! Not of Finns or any other who used that style helmet put of us humans. I used that helmet for there are thousands of them in Finland. Do you get it now Mr Aryan?
Race is a illusion. We are all the same! Go and live little

I love when dumb people send me comments.
Race is important. You are illusory, or your enemies will make you so, but you swallowed the poison pill already. We are NOT THE SAME.

I apologize, I didn't realize that the Finnish military had German helmets, so I assumed that these soldiers were German. Hope I didn't offend.

This is absolutely amazing. It has a powerful, weighty, and sinister quality, especially with the symbolism of the distinct helmets. I love the black (my favorite color), and the lighting and the textures are magnificent. I love all of your photos in this series, but I especially like the ones with the Nazi(esque) uniforms, which I find both intensely fascinating and intensely repulsive. Others have given much better reviews, but I thought I'd try to say something more than my standard "awesome!" Honestly there are no words for this and I'm annoyed that I can't fully express the thoughts I have about this photograph. In any case, great job!

It is ironic how dehumanized humanity has become. in a faceless crowd, every indavidual has no more personality than a single ant among millions. Each is unique, and has absolutely no value when placed within the collective.
