Peridot chuckled and bounded up next to her. "What cha doing?"

"Oh...hm..." Lapis looked back to her and yawned. "Just...sleeping."

Peridot smiled. "Sleeping! Can I join you?" She yipped. Before Lapis even answered, Peridot flopped her head against the other's body.

Lapis sighed again and thought. 'why me...' Her cheeks colored a bit and she looked up, sarcastically asking. "Feeling comfortable?"

Peridot nodded and snuggled her head against Lapis's fluffy body. "Yea. You feel so nice."

Lapis blushed a bit, shyly and grumpily. ".....thank you...I think..." she rested her head in the grass.

Peridot giggled and wagged her tail. "I like being around you."

Lapis look up slightly and smiled a bit. "o-oh..." She thought. 'no one said it before...' "u-uh...peridot....?"

Peridot looked over with her happy look. "Yes?"

Lapis sighed. "thank you..."

Peridot smiled and shifted so her head was closer.

Lapis again, let a small smile "you know...ther's a good lake near here..." She added.

Peridot's head shot up with a large smile. "Really?! I love lakes! The fish love to play with me! Why do they stay in the water anyway?"

Lapis giggled a bit. "Fish need water to breath, is like...their air." She explained.

Peridot looked intrigued. "They breath water? Can we do something like that?"

Lapis shook her head. "oh...better not to try it, fish use water to transform in air...I think.." She rubbed her chin.

Peridot giggled. "Ok, i wont. " She bounced around. "You're really smart Lapis!"

Lapis rubbed her head. "oh thank you...I just...read a lot of books...when...i'm alone." She explained.

Peridot smiled. "I do to! I like to read them in funny voices!"

Lapis giggled a bit. "oh..." She looked away. "Books are...interesting."

Peridot smiled happily and nodded. "Do you want to go to the lake? Or are you still tired?"

"Just...my back is hurting a bit" She tried to joke.

Peridot tilted her head and started massaging Lapis's back. "Does this help?"

Lapis giggled and nodded. "y-yeah..."

Peridot gasped. "I know! My mom would do this when I got hurt to make me feel better!" She said, then pressed her muzzle against the other's back, giving a kiss.

Lapis shivered and blushed shyly.

Peridot looked up. "Did that help? Does your back not hurt anymore?"

Lapis was still a little shy after the kiss on her back. "Uh i-it's not hurting a-anymore..." She looked away shyly.

Peridot yipped happily. "Yay! I helped!"

"Y-yeah...you h-helped" Lapis whispered.

Peridot tilted her head. "Why is your face so red? Are you sick? Should I kiss your head to make you feel better too?"

Lapis blushed more. "n-no-nono that's not necessary! Is just... the sun!" She giggle weirdly. "Yeah! I was sleeping here and the sun was going against my face!"

Peridot nodded. "Oh ok!"

Lapis sighed, relived. 'Oh thank god...'

Peridot giggled and nuzzled up next to her again

Lapis blushed again. "...t-this is...uh...w-weird peridot..." she looked away shyly.

Peridot looked confused and backed a step away. "Oh..Im sorry."

Peridot smiled. "Ok! Can you let me know when im allowed to touch you? I wont till you're ok with it."

Lapis rubbed her head. "uh...r-right...just let me know before you do."

Lapis got up and shook her fur. "so...let's go to lake?" She asked.

Peridot was excited once again ."Ok!"

Both started to walk until they arrived at the lake

Peridot didn't hesitate and jumped in the wake as soon as she could.

Lapis giggled and sat in next to the lake.

Peridot yipped and chased a fish.

"I think that fish is playing tag" Lapis enjoyed seeing peridot chasing the fish.

Peridot gasped and plunged her head under the water. She came up with a fish wigging in her grasp. "Trg yrr ih." She smiled.

Lapis laughed "you really caught him."

Peridot opened her mouth to reply. But as she did, the fish smacked her face and fell back into the water.

Lapis giggled. "I think it's your turn now." She said with amusement.

But Peridot scowled. "Hey! That hurt!" She growled, then splashed around the water a lot.

Lapis tried to avoid the water being slashed.

Peridot yipped and kept slashing.

Suddenly she yelped and disappeared under the water.

Lapis started to laugh again

The water churned and peridot's head came up for a moment. she gasped for breath, then sunk under again.

Lapis stopped laughing for a moment, then look kinda worried.

The water churned as though she was trying to get back to the surface, but she didn't appear again

Lapis looked worried to the lake. No one could be underwater for so long time...especially someone like Peridot. She quickly jumped in water, searching for the other.

Peridot was flailing under the water. A piece of fishing line was caught around her foot, keeping her under. Her eyes were wide with fear.

Lapis saw the fishing line and quickly swam twords her foot. She manage to bite through the line and tried to bring her to the surface.

Peridot's mouth was open and she was struggling to get the the surface. Even when she did, she didn't have any strength to keep her muzzle up.

Lapis brought her to the surface and gasped a bit. she pulled peridot to the grass.

Peridot gagged and coughed up a lot of water. She gasped and shook as she tried to stay propped up

"Peridot, are you ok?" Lapis asked, very worried.

Peridot gasped and looked up to Lapis. Her eyes looked strange.

Lapis sighed in relief, and nuzzled her. "Thank goodness...geez who put things like that in lakes?" She looked to lake and look back to her, smiling a little with tears.

But Peridot was still staring at her, panting. "You...saved....me"

Lapis giggled and rubbed her head. "y-yeah..." She smiled, still kinda worried.

Peridot blushed slightly and tried to stand, wobbling a bit.

"Uh...maybe it's better if you rest a bit... I..." Lapis blushed a bit. "I-I can let you rest on me if you want."

Peridot glanced away. "Thank you.." She said quietly, sinking weakly back to the ground.

Lapis laid next her and looked away.

Peridot scooted closer to snuggle up. "Uh..this is ok right?"

Lapis nodded "s-sure."

Peridot nodded and kept her eyes away. Her chest was thumping out a fear...and some other thing that she couldn't quiet tell.

"So...how are you feeling?" Lapis asked, a bit worried.

Peridot blinked. "Um...I think im ok."

Lapis sighed, relived. "Thank goodness..." She looked to her. "i...i'm so happy you're ok."

Peridot looked back to her. Her eyes seemed, strange.

Lapis tilted her head. "Are you...ok peridot...?" She asked.

Peridot glanced away. "Uh, yea. I think so..." Has Lapis's eyes always shone like that? Blue and gold....like two precious gems.

Lapis giggled a bit and looked to their fur. "oh...uh...we're both soaked." She tried to think of something to distract Peridot's mind.

Peridot nodded. "Yea...The sun should dry us quickly."

Lapis nodded "y-yeah."

Peridot rested her head on her own paws a moment, then tipped her head to rest against Lapis, just listening to herself breath.

Lapis blushed a bit and looked to peridot. She glanced around...her friend needed her now. She gently rested her head against Peridot's.

Peridot felt her heart speed up, and her face warm. But it felt...nice. She closed her eyes and savored the feeling.

Lapis didn't notice it, and kept watching the lake.

Time seemed to stall forever as Peridot laid there. She eventually went limp and fell asleep.

Lapis looked to Peridot and noticed she was sleeping on her. She giggled and nuzzle her cheek, then close her eyes too.
