A young woman named Jane had come to developed a fondness a small traveling circus of genetic clowns while her life at home falls apart by a combination of tragedy and tedium. Eventually she meet up with some of the performers and develops a companionship with them, which in the case of one of the leaders named Lulu goes deeper. Eventually the decide to give her an option to join their Merry Band, but in doing so would involve a rather permanent change. As such Lulu gets from the the small trailer a small vial in which was grown a small pink round thing. Lulu gave Jane one final chance to change her mind before she stuck the small living thing onto her nose. In a few seconds it had adhered to her skin, in a few minutes it had begun to fuse to her body. Soon it was part of her and her. Her skin around it slowly began to bleach and take on the same rubbery quality as Lulu's.
