This vehicle is of Martian design and manufacture, a squat quinaped used for a wide variety of construction and industrial purposes. These mechanisms greatly enhance the mobility of their martian pilots, as well as their strength. Equipped with ten articulated tentacles, a handling machine can easily lift large items and precisely assemble them with a precision finer than millimeters. The speed, dexterity and grace with which a martial can accomplish complex work has made a major impression on the few individuals which have seen these machines in action and have lived to tell the tale. Three headlights exist to allow the pilot to work day and night. Two larger mounts exist for modular heavier appendages. In this case a pair of shovels. Their legs with their quasi-musculature can reach a respectable turn of pace (enough to run down humans even on horseback), even if the more famous Fighting Machines can easily outrun them. They are capable of using weapons such as Heat Rays, though for the most part the Martians preferred simply to keep them away from combat whenever possible.
