Similar to the dreaded Fighting Machines in design, Excursion Machines are civilian vehicles used by the Martians for day to day operations around and outside their cities and bases, both on Mars and on Earth. They have five main manipulator tentacles, which is less than a Handling Machine has though it makes up for it in terms of speed. Numerous excursion machines were built during the Second Invasion , though these rarely left areas which the invaders considered to be secure.
