Ship information:
During the prototype phase 6 ships were constructed in total. 4 of this version and 2 of the ultimate design chosen.

There was minor differences between this design and the final. Performance was the same. The main reason it lost to the version used in the fleets now was production costs. The angular hull was easier to construct and maintain.

All 4 prototypes were however declared battle ready and placed into the 1st fleet. Codenamed Proteus and later reclassified as Mk4 -Beta 001 to 004
