Description Combat Rules:

* Roll a feat test (usually agility, but perhaps in grappling you can do strength test) for combat after choosing your target. If you are firing a firearm it is a perception against agility test. Roll your skill. Example: If you have an adept in fighting, you roll three d10’s (if you have a specialty roll an extra d10), you take the numbers and if they are repeat numbers ( 7 and 7, 4 and 4)of ones that come in a run (7 and 8, but not 4 and 6) you may add them together, and you add that number to the corresponding attribute (with fighting it would be added to your agility attribute).
* If you succeed, roll 1d10 for just succeeding. Then add 1 10 d for each 5 pts. That you succeeded on. If you rolled 25 and they rolled 20, you gain 1 die, because 5 above. If you rolled 12 and they rolled 10, you get no extra die from that test.
* Then you take the success die, the feat test die (if any) add them to the weapon’s damage value. For example you have 1 success die(The given), one feat success die, and attack with a weapon that has 2 damage value so you have four d 10’s.
* Then you add your strength bonus, if in melee combat.
* Strength of 8-10=1 die.
* Strength of 11-12=2 die
* Strength of 12-13= 3 die
* Strength of 14- and up=4 die.

All right imposterzilla I have some issues here. I am actually in the process of writing my own homebrew rules for an extension to DnD 4e (so you can play gods), so I know a little something about rpgs. However, I'm totally lost by this post. I read it quickly, but I feel if I can't get the flavor of the combat rules froma quick read then it is to complicated. Maybe I am just not familar with the system you are basing your design on, but I do not understand what your combat rules are so far. Could you try clarifying with a sample step by step (each line a step) approach?

Its framewerk. First you have a combat test using either agility or perception, then opponent does their test to as well. You find your test score and see if you scored how much over your opponent. For every 5 you get another 1d10. You start with one d10, then you add the amount of die associated with a weapon. Then add a strength bonus if applicable.

I think I get it now. Basically, the better your shot (the higher your score) the more damage you do. I like that idea, but I wonder if it is difficult to constantly figure out different damage amounts. It could make play a bit long.

When we played Cthulhutech (plug the game) it didn't really do much to make it long.

go online. It's a future mythos game with pretty much anime inspiration. Rather fun stuff.
