Profile: Humans (Homo sapiens sapiens)

History:
There is debate at the actual age of the human race, but from what information available is that human kind appeared in Africa about 130,000 years ago. Others have claimed that these were archaic strains and should not be counted.  Despite these claims mankind has survived one the strangest cycles of their planet, called Earth in the Sol system(3rd from sun- Sol-3). The last 100,000 years on Earth has seen dramatic climatic changes from Ice Age to warm periods to new Ice Ages to the current time period on the planet referred to many as the “Neo Mesozoic”.

Mankind’s earliest civilizations seem to be around seven thousand to eight thousand years old, but there is evidence that there is evidence of an ancient civilization of Earth that flourished from 17 thousand to about 8 thousand BC. This civilization apparently encountered the original Xilien invasion and lost the war even though Mothra-their protector was able to repel the Xilien invasion. The brunt of the Xilien invasion with its ships and its weapon-Gigan-crushed this civilization about 10,000 years in the past. The end of the Ice Age and the flooding from its end sank a majority of the leftovers of this society, while the rest atrophied. Time took its toll and majority of the ruins decomposed while some remnants were recorded like for example in the epic Ramayana:

“The sun seemed to turn around. The universe scorched with heats seemed to be in a ever. The elephants and other creatures of the land scorched by the energy of weapon, ran in fright, breathing heavily and desirous of protection against that terrible force…”

Despite the advanced technology that was left over, mankind didn’t take advantage of it and it basically atrophied. Empires rose and fell. Centuries passed and eventually on the continent of Europe due to a myriad of factors the Europeans began the age of exploration and colonization.  The world shrank and languages were spread, but not at the cost of freedom and lives for many millions. Ages passed and colonies would rebel and form new powerful nations and then after 2 world conflicts the weapon that mankind had lost had returned-the atomic bomb.

Mankind tested this weapon in the Pacific Rim in an event called the Cold War. This struggle pitted East and west against each other. It pitted totalitarian subjugation of the individual against the forces of freedom and choice, but this conflict saw great weapons of the atom detonated and their powers had an effect on wildlife. Ancient creatures in suspended animation were awakened and some were transmuted into powerful forms that could never have been imagined before like the creature-Godzilla.

Mankind for years struggled with these creatures as they waged war on humanity. Then the appearance of mutant humans (Type 1) appeared after the Cold War ended as the globe began to grow closer together. Soon after, the disputes between nations arise again. This time with the threat of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons and with the spirit of socialism or fanaticism fueling these threats, the world erupts into multiple small wars. They begin to escalate and nuclear weapons are used and various chemical weapons are deployed.

The United Nations at the time, an inept union of nations that originally was created to prevent war and atrocities, did nothing but stood idly by, perhaps making a meaningless referendum. It wasn’t until a strong pull by several countries that funded and hosted the UN completely reinvented the UN turning it against the dictatorships and the unjust human rights abusers.

Then the Gene War began. The Type 1 Mutants led by Edward Watson of Cheddar, England began terrorist attacks against what he dubbed, “oppressive, obsolete hominids”.
While this goes on the Type 2 mutants appear, but are largely either hidden from or  ignored by the public until about six years later. The Gene war did end when Watson was killed by the kaiju Dagarah, and in retaliation the mutants he had led joined the UN to form a special anti-kaiju force.

The Xiliens did return soon after that and under the guise of friendly beings form the stars, until the ruse was blown off and Operation Final occurred. It was revealed that the Type 1 Mutants were actually human and Xilien hybrids leftover from the first invasion that had their Xilien traits in a type of inertness.  The Xiliens launch their attacks on humanity using kaiju and their war machines, but due to the combined force of the Gotengo, Mothra, Godzilla, and a bizarre variation of the Type 1 mutant called “Kaiser” resulted in a devastating defeat for the Xilien forces.

Throughout the next 180 or so years mankind began its colonization of space and spread its influence using the technology stolen from the Xilien ships while the UN became the United Earth Federation to govern itself and its colonies. One of the reasons was the continuing tide of kaiju attacks that would lead mankind toward exodus from Earth. Despite rocky beginnings and a major world war with forces that opposed this globalization, it became the sole human government and saw a long time of peace never before seen by man. The end of the 22nd century saw that peace shattered by the Martian rebellions. After suffering an embarrassing defeat, the UEF granted the Martian colonies independence. Mankind would further explore his solar system and go to war with forces of the Kilaaks that were ignoring the Galactic Community Counsel by going into Sol space to pursue imperialistic goals upon a lesser race. UEF and Martian forces would unite, after suffering greatly from the Kilaaks, to push the Kilaaks out of the Sol system.

The victories against the Kilaaks made mankind want to find out more about how hostile the universe was, so plans went forward with space ships that could travel to Alpha Centauri, even though it would take the ship almost 20 years go and return. The explorations to Alpha Centauri lead to mankind’s contact with the Daggra. The Daggra give mankind hyperspace technology and ask them to join the Galactic Community Counsel. From there mankind colonizes several systems and is currently involved with wars against pirate organizations and in a cold war with the Simeons.

Total human population at the present is 34 billion.

Biology:
Humans are a race that is classified as a type of primate. Humans lack fur but have hair on their heads and depending on the human elsewhere. Humans are sexually dimorphic, meaning it is usually easy to tell males and females of the species apart. Males are usually broad shouldered and flat-chested and of heavy built than females. While female humans are usually lighter built, have wider hips, bear mammary glands on their chests.
There are multiple environmental variations of humans that have various skin tones, hair colors, and eye colors unlike many of the other races.

Humans usually do not have very many unique traits. They have moderate strength and are easily injured. Humans lack natural weaponry or armor.  Mutant humans of the Type 1 variety have enhanced strength, agility, and speed. Type 2’s have various appearances that may make them appear to be non-humans and their abilities are extremely varied. Some suggested that the Type 2 mutants are the human equivalent of creatures that appeared during the Cambrian Explosion when a multitude of species exploded onto the scene, some even being from the same species but appearing to be completely different taxonomically speaking. There is also one recorded case of a Kaiser, a Type 1 mutant who hads the right amount of human genes in ratio to Xilien genes to release large amounts of power. One Kaiser has been documented on Earth and that was during Operation Final War in 2017. Kaisers are also reported within Xilien society as well.

Humans have, since the creation of antibiotics, weakened immune systems, but in recent years mankind’s immune systems have rebounded since coming into contact with the other species. However, with this taken into account biological agents usually will work against human targets.

Society:
Humans have various cultural traits due to being such a varied species. Within space mankind has kept most of the traits and customs from the geographical regions his ancestors occupied mostly. With that saying, mankind has a large degree of cultural diversity, possibly because it’s only been about three centuries that mankind has been under a global system, perhaps with the varying degrees of unity of mankind has that the society will become more homogenous.

The United Earth Federation has a democratically elected republic-style government. Each local colony or zone has elections for their own local government, but also sends representatives to the next rung in government. That rung does the same and so on. Only certain offices such as regional governor, system supervisor, and UEF president are directly elected, but for the latter an Electoral College system is used to avoid massive counting.

Humans have various religions.  The most common religions in the 24th century are Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. These religions require have different customs and have different holidays and beliefs. In the 24th century 3 other religions have become major religions. These are the Church of Mothra, Universal Gaiaism, and the Cult of Elvis.  The Church of Mothra is a group that worships the legendary guardian kaiju from Earth. This group has a high belief in mysticism and has a high belief in pacifism, unless they believe actions can be settled by other means.  Universal Gaiaism is a belief that began in the latter 21st century, however with man’s exploration of space it has taken on new aspects. Universal Gaiaism believes that all planets are living things and their ecosystems are fluid and can change for better or for worse, sometime to adjust themselves to new conditions. Believers claim that the kaiju on Earth were created by the Earth’s immune system to fend off the viral human presence.
The Universal Gaiaists believe that dead worlds are merely sleeping and the pioneers of terraforming usually came from this religious background.  The Cult of Elvis is a church that existed in extremely few people in the 20th and 21st centuries, but within the 2060’s a clone of Elvis was created using mankind’s now banned cloning technology. This Elvis was raised by the cult and turned into a deity for the cult to do everything the original was able to do.

Music is one of the most powerful art forms humans and many other species have. Music has taken on regional flavors within the UEF. Rock and Roll is one of the most persistent forms of music besides Pop, Electronic, and surprisingly enough-Country in some areas of the UEF. Musicians and singers, besides politicians and other factors seem to keep the UEF in union and bridge the gap between the differences of the colonial regions.

Military/Weapons/Tactics:

Military:

The UEF military has subdivisions through the various colonial zones it has, yet also it has a major federal force.  Each designated zone has X amount of soldiers, ships, and weapons stationed in it judging by population, importance, and value. Even though most of the UEF is a space force with ships, there is a large percentage of ground soldiers and ground weapons.

Military service is voluntary unless in cases of emergency. Recruits volunteer and go before a review board and if approved go to the academy for training in either the Space Force or the UEF Ground Army. The cadets are put into the academy for seven months and then are assigned to a post. However, for the first year in their positions, cadets are drilled and heavily trained to meet the needs of the UEF military.

UEF Ground Army uniform colors include light blue with white trim. Space form uniforms are a turquoise with white trim.

Weapons:

MX032-ODIN:
This is a .45 caliber pistol that is used commonly by the police and investigative squads. It has a capacity of 8 rounds. The maximum effective range is 87 ft. and it takes a (15 g) lead/steel alloy round. Drawback is that because of a design flaw it takes half a minute to reload. Advantages are the built in tracer and a specialized handle that is effective against recoil. This pistol is one the most common firearms in human space, used by the law and criminals alike.

Rar7-Hades 48 Plasma Snipe Rifle:
UEF Ground Army standard sniper weapon with a maximum accuracy range of 340ft. This weapon has a 17.4” barrel and is equipped to take a half lb. battery. This weapon takes a clip of inert conversion matter for plasma conversion. It has a maximum firing limit of seventeen before taking a new clip. Cool down time before shots is thirty-four seconds before being primed for the next shot. Originally a Martian made weapon, but now is a mainstay of UEF forces. Most notably used within the Gadaru-Simeon
conflict when UEF forces joined the conflict as military advisors to the Gadaru. Unlike the Martian counterpart, the UEF variant has a better recoil buffer.

HXD-309 Falconer:

This is a 5.56mm assault rifle that is the standard amongst UEF forces. It has a roller lock bolt system and fires a 7.62x39mm round. This assault rifle is made famous by the round that it fires. The HXD-309 Falconer’s round has a nanocomputer and various sensors built within it. When the target is hit, the sensors figure out where the round hit and what it hit. If embedded in armor, a limited amount of force from a propellant device on the back of the round is exuded to give the round a small amount of momentum to drive itself deeper and deploy itself. The round self destructs and breaks into shrapnel to ensure more damage to the target. The HXD-309 Falconer reloads exceptionally quick and has a maximum effective range of 112ft.

URRR-456 Roosevelt Class Destroyer
This is a 175 meter destroyer that is commonly used by the UEF. This ship model is used in every area under UEF control. There are over 175 of them in service. Each URRR-456 is equipped with twin particle cannons with a maximum range of 8.5 thousand meters, anti-surface ballistic missiles located within three pods on the bottom of the ship, and a devastating plasma cannon that has a maximum range of twenty-five thousand meters with a cool down time of 2 minutes.

Gotengo MK-IV
This 160 meter long battleship is a limited run vessel. This vessel is made from the classic line that saw battle against Godzilla originally in the 20th century, the Xiliens in the 21st, and the Martians and Kilaaks in the 2nd and 23rd centuries.  This model was created in the year 2281 to honor the popular line and was built for combat with variable foes in mind.  There are only 8 models available and each has been outfitted with the same weapons: the power drill mounted at the bow if needed, four missile pods with a maximum accuracy range of eighteen thousand meters, and two pairs on particle cannons on each side of the vessel with maximum accuracy range of ten thousand meters.

GX-76 Pegasus Fighter
This is the standard fighter for the Space Forces and is only built for space combat. It appears in the form of what a jet fighter from the early 21st century looked like except smaller wings and jump jets located on its sides, plus the special thrust engine on the back.  This fighter is capable of moving at Mach 5 and is equipped with two missile pods that carry a payload of eight medium range missiles. The Pegasus also has a miniature short rang machine gun under the nose that delivers a special alloy munition.

JS-80 Jet Jaguar Combat Suit-H Type
During the conflict with the Kilaaks, the Martians used robotic, mobile combat suits to battle the larger Kilaak warriors and their various pets. From that time on, the UEF researched building battle ready combat suits. The JS-80 Jet Jaguar Combat suit was built for this purpose.  If further conflicts occurred against Kilaaks or against other larger creatures or armored weapons, these devices would be used against them. The Jet Jaguar is about 12 meters tall and either carries a 2x40mm machine gun or a specialized 2x 200mm bazooka that fires a rocket propelled warhead or a specialized plastic-based armor destroying round. Usually each suit is equipped with a backpack that carries x extra clips of ammunition. The suit is equipped with enhanced night and infrared vision.

JS-80 Jet Jaguar Combat Suit-J Type is a heavy combat variant used for planets or other bodies with higher than 3 x Earth’s Gravity.

JS-80 Jet Jaguar Combat Suit-M Type is a space designed variant. It is equipped with a set of powerful jump jets equipped on its back.

GXP-11 Munchkin Battlefield Drone
This device is a 5’6” high and 5ft wide cylindrical, hovering drone that assists in combat and carries medical supplies and ammunition in its backside. It has in its rear a platform to carry wounded soldiers. Through recognition software the Munchkin only gives supplies to friendlies.  This drone carries two 20 mm machine guns. If the Munchkin is in serious danger it deploys, from a secret compartment from its top, a single special armor-piercing round. If that does not work, the Munchkin does detonate, obliterating everything within 13 square feet because of its micro fusion battery.

LS-90 Mako Skimmer

The LS-90 Mako Skimmer is a light and quick combat vehicle. It has a simple anti-grav device that allows it to hover while its engines give it a thrust that can propel it up 110 miles per hour. It can go from 0 to 60mph within 15 seconds.  It has a blue cigar shaped fuselage that is about 13ft long with three 4ft long fins. This weapon is for quick assault with its two 25 mm machine guns that are mounted in front. The top of the Mako has a rapid fire laser gun that will cut itself off if the threat of overheating becomes probable.
Two pilots are needed: One to maneuver the vehicle and the other to work the weapon systems.

Tactics:
Humans usually use air strikes to soften up targets and then sending in armor and vehicles and then soldiers. However, if forced to soldiers and drones will go in for an attack with air support and accompanied by artillery. In defensive tactics, humans usually use anti-aircraft and anti armor-artillery, while evacuating civilians to safer places and keeping defensive ground troops for the incoming enemies.

UEF and Martian forces are infamous for deploying specialized commandos to do very important cloak and dagger missions.

Notable Human Organizations:

United Earth Federation (UEF): The government body that 87% of the human population lives under. It is defined as a free trade, democratic republic.

Martian Independent Republic (MIR): The planet Mars and surrounding colonies. It is defined as a semi-socialist military-run dictatorship. Local governments are democratically elected however.

New Rome: Located in the Altair system, this is a collection of colonies that rebelled form the UEF in more recent times. Each colony has a democratically elected government that nominated members to the Senate. The Senate has a large amount of control over the whole of the government. The Senate is headed by a Senate-elected Proconsul, who has the majority of the Senate. New Rome is regarded as a haven for drug and gun runners and pirates.

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA): Modeled after the original CIA of the United States of America, this is the UEF’s agency for gathering intelligence on various threats to its security and if needed, is used to neutralize such threats.

Martian Economic Agency (MEA): A branch of the MIR that is used to trade with UEF and Daggra governments and with independent groups within the UEF.  Exports mostly manufacturing machinery, combat suit parts, munitions, and various types of computer components. Imports mostly food, raw materials, and various commodities.

The Flaming Stars: Criminal organization that is based somewhere in the Jovian system and has been found to be selling munitions to the Dark Nova, trafficking Gig Fighter units which are banned in UEF space, laundering money in various banking organizations. They are rumored to be working in the Vega system of trafficking drugs and slave workers.

Notable Humans:

Francias Edmonds, UEF President: Edmonds has been noted for bringing the UEF closer to the Nebulans. His talks of free trade between the UEF and their Economic Union has led to the Nebulans making laws against hiring Simeon mercenaries by the government or surrogates. Edmonds also is a charismatic leader and is the first UEF head of state to visit an alien capitol world-the Daggra homeworld.

Hiro Fuji, Head of the Dark Nova: Son of the original leader of the Dark Nova who had died in recent years. He is a Type 2 mutant with the telepathic ability to make beings around him within the vicinity of forty square feet fall to their knees in a controlled fear response. His leadership of the Dark Nova had led to its expansion into the Mizar system and limited expansion into the Economic Union’s territory.

Kira Woods-Lai: Famous actress and singer that has been used as an ambassador to the Daggra. Her singing has been extremely popular within the UEF and has been the first professional singer from the UEF to visit New Rome since the revolution. Her unique style and voice has even garnered respect from the Simeon culture.
