AT FIRST; FULLVIEW IT!!!!!!!oneoneJaha, this is my Space Marine captain, Mathesius Rambo (his name doesn't have anything to do with my own name. )
And Rambo is surname/nickname/something, that we started calling him. He gained it because he was always the last one on the battlefield, and usually his lone actions allowed Space Marines to win even if entire army was annihilated
Well, here i pictured his last seconds of being a sargeant. He receives a power sword and he is being promoted to Captain.

Made in watercolors, but i feel like i screwed up some details... Though i do like those two kneeling dudes on first plane.

About colors - i don't think that many people are still using traditional watercolors for warhammer fanart... Digital takes over...

I mostly avoid digital painting. I find it adds months (literally) to a piece, as there's too much temptation to do ever-smaller detail-work.

Either way, I would like to be very, very honest with you about this picture! As lovely as the armors and everything looks... it's very plain. And the blues and reds are too much of a poisonous hue for my taste. I'm really sorry, but I don't really like how the watercolors are so thick on the original that it's all shiny in the light. And the lineart looks rather shaky, you still didn't try varying it either.
Secondly, I feel like the background is too blue to add to the depth, it makes the characters melt into it... Wish it was brown! Dark brown.
I'm a bit... not pleased. I really hope that you'll do better on next pic!
But on a happier note, I really love how you added such a load of detail on the more important guys (it's clear that they are important!). IMO, the beardless one is my favorite!

And about the rest - me myself, after looking at this pic longer - am not too satisfied with it... Let's pray that teh dreadnought will be a better show of my skills! 8D

Wiesz, ten palant zaczal mi wysylac wiadomosci 'don't break my heart' czy 'i thought we were friends'... Wtedy, kiedy mu delikatnie powiedzialem ze nie chce miec juz nic do czynienia z futrami, zaczal mi mowic ze jestem nieuczciwy, zaczal grozic mi ze napisze na mnie journale i ze pousuwa moje prace z jego stron i spali orginaly. Bloknalem go wtedy, to zaczal mi na maila pisac, i do Emmy wyslal juz pare notek o tym jaki ja to zly jestem i nieuczciwy...
