I drove on the wrong side of the street tonight, but only for a second. Just long enough to see I was the only one going the wrong way, just long enough to almost hit a couple people.

But there was nothing more than a scare...

I guess they knew who I was looking for. I guess they knew I wouldn't settle for anything less then a head on collision. So I can't blame them for getting out of my way, and at least I left them shaking because we almost hit each other. But they'll never know I'm shaking because we never did.

Maybe I should have listened when I was told nothing good would come from trying, Maybe I should have remembered that it would hurt like nothing else. I couldn't resist the chance to feel like only it could make you feel though, and I figured not to try was a form of trying anyways. So I crossed the lines and undermined what everyone had said.

Of course I came out safe and sound again. Even though I thought for sure 4am was the perfect time for a crash, you didn't show up.

I'm beginning to believe I'm on the wrong streets.

But I'll drive until I find you

And left alone to my own wreck.
They'll call it an accident,
But I crossed the lines to undermine what everyone had said.

And I did it on purpose.

Because I want nothing more then to see your face the moment you know it's all over, and you realize I'm the last person you're ever going to see. I hope our headlights break just like our bones, so when the paramedics ask me why I'm smiling so much, I'll tell them no one will ever hurt you like I did tonight. And for the rest of your life, when people stare and wonder how you got crippled, you'll have their answer, just whisper my name.

This drove me crazy for awhile. Because it was just a good idea that I wanted to say a lot on, and do the best I could. I hurt my own brain far to often, and I should be restrained.
